Lemon Grass is an herb that is native to south Indian but now grows in many countries around the world. The plant stalks are a common ingredient in Asian cooking, but it's also possible to brew lemongrass to make tea. It's a delightful and refreshing beverage, lemongrass has the fragrance of lemon, it is milder and sweeter.

This perennial plant can be grown easily in your garden or indoors as a potted plant. It requires nothing more than some suns, Rich soil, and plenty of water. Lemongrass has the fragrance of lemon but it's milder and sweeter as I said earlier. Interestingly, there are plenty of benefits of Lemongrass and I learned that it has been used in Indian for many years for medicinal purposes. Even here in Nigeria, we use it to cure many diseases too.

To be honest, you will get many more from an herbal cup of tea than a vitamin pill.

Benefit of Lemongrass

Lemongrass usually helps prevent the growth of some bacterial and yeast.

It contains substances that are thought to relieve pain and swelling.

It reduces fever.

It improves the level of sugar and cholesterol in the blood.

Lemongrass tea stimulates the Uterus and Menstrual flow.

It has antioxidant properties.

It Boosts immunity.

How to Use Lemon Grass Tea

I am not here to recommend any dosage for you, but I will only tell you how I use it. I take one cup if I want to use it to limit any form of overdose risk or side effect as you know that too much of everything is bad.

Cut the amount of lemongrass of your choice, then place it in a clean pot and put a little amount of water that is enough to boil it. Then, cover it for five minutes to boil, put off the heat and pour it into a teacup to cool.

Strain the tea then enjoy it hot or add ice cubes for iced lemongrass tea.

You can find Loose lemongrass tea or lemongrass Teabags at most natural food stores or online. You can also purchase fresh lemongrass to grow yourself at nurseries where herbs are sold.
