The history of the museum began when Catherine II began to acquire something here from the collections.
There is a lot of interesting things here, from architecture to the art of the ancient world.
The main exhibitions are the Old Hermitage and the New Hermitage, the Small Hermitage, the Hermitage Theater and the Winter Palace.
