Hola, amigos de Hive espero que se encuentren muy bien, hoy les queremos compartir una salida que tuvimos al rededor de la ciudad. Fue una salida relajada que tuvimos para ir a comer, ya tenía un rato que lxs dos no comíamos pozole, el cual es un plato típico de la cocina mexicana y que se remonta a siglos antes de la conquista. Pero antes de llegar al restaurante en nuestro trayecto en el metro nos encontramos con una exposición de cuadros muy interesante, a continuación, les queremos mostrar fotos de los cuadros que más nos gustaron.
Hello, friends of Hive, I hope you are feeling well, today we want to share with you an outing we had around the city. It was a relaxed outing we had to go out to eat, it had been a while since the two of us had eaten pozole, which is a typical dish of Mexican cuisine and dates back to centuries before the conquest. But before arriving at the restaurant on our way in the subway we came across a very interesting exhibition of paintings, here are some pictures of the paintings we liked the most.
También tomamos fotos del interior del metro que se encontraba muy solo y que nos recuerda un poco al creepypasta de los backrooms.
We also took pictures of the inside of the subway which was very lonely and reminds us a little bit of the creepypasta of the backrooms.
Cuando llegamos a la estación Fray Servando de la línea 4 del metro nos dirigimos al parque que se encuentra afuera llamado parque de los periodistas ilustres. Pues para llegar al restaurante de pozole que se llama el tamalito gourmet teníamos que cruzar por ese parque. Además este parque tiene un peso emocional importante para lxs dos pues aquí comenzamos oficialmente nuestra relación.
When we arrived at the Fray Servando station on line 4 of the subway we headed to the park outside called Parque de los periodistas ilustres. To get to the pozole restaurant called el tamalito gourmet we had to cross this park. Besides, this park has an important emotional weight for both of us because this is where we officially started our relationship.
El clima era muy caluroso pues la CDMX está pasando por una onda de calor así que nos animamos a comprar un par de helados, elegimos de limón con chamoy y de vainilla que tenía un poco de cajeta ya que a @panconcajeta le encanta la cajeta jaja.
The weather was very hot because CDMX is going through a heat wave so we decided to buy a couple of ice creams, we chose lemon with chamoy and vanilla that had a little bit of cajeta because @panconcajeta loves cajeta haha.
Por fin cruzamos el parque y cuando llegamos nos dimos cuenta que el restaurante había cambiado de local. Nos metimos y estaba un poco solitario pero estaba fresco y el ambiente era muy agradable.
We finally crossed the park and when we arrived we realized that the restaurant had changed location. We wandered in and it was a bit lonely but it was cool and the atmosphere was very nice.
El tamalito gourmet es un restaurante que se especializa en tamales gourmet (valga la redundancia) y aunque sí teníamos antojo solo nos limitamos a pedir pozole. Los dos pedimos pozole blanco aunque también puede haber pozole rojo y verde, justo los colores de la bandera de México. El pozole se sirve con maíz cacahuazintle y puede ser de carne de pollo, de cerdo , camarón (generalmente así es de la costa) e incluso vegano. Antes de la llegada de los españoles el pozole era un plato ceremonial que contenía carne humana, generalmente de víctimas de las guerras floridas. Era una ofrenda al señor Xipe Tótec, dios de la fertilidad, el maíz y la guerra. Se dice que los conquistadores se horrorizaron al ver esta práctica y cambiaron la carne humana por la de cerdo, y que gracias a la similitud con la carne humana fue bien recibida por los nativos.
El tamalito gourmet is a restaurant that specializes in gourmet tamales (redundancy aside) and although we did have a craving we just ordered pozole. We both ordered white pozole although there can also be red and green pozole, just the colors of the Mexican flag. Pozole is served with cacahuazintle corn and can be chicken, pork, shrimp (usually from the coast) or even vegan. Before the arrival of the Spaniards, pozole was a ceremonial dish containing human meat, usually from victims of the Floridian wars. It was an offering to Lord Xipe Tótec, god of fertility, corn and war. It is said that the conquistadors were horrified to see this practice and changed the human meat for pork, and that thanks to the similarity with human meat it was well received by the natives.
Algunos de los toppings para acompañar el pozole son cebolla blanca, lechuga, rábanos y a veces aguacate y chicharrón.
Some of the toppings to accompany the pozole are white onion, lettuce, radishes and sometimes avocado and chicharron.
El pozole estuvo delicioso, uno de los más ricos que hemos probado y aunque el clima era muy caluroso comer algo caliente nos hizo sudar y nos ayudó a refrescarnos un poco más.
The pozole was delicious, one of the tastiest we have ever had and although the weather was very hot eating something hot made us sweat and helped us cool down a little more.
Saliendo del restaurante volvimos al parque donde nos encontramos unas máquinas para hacer ejercicio, y @panconcajeta se animó a ejercitarse en una de ellas. Seguimos caminando y @fclore22 compró otro helado, esta vez de mango con chamoy y chile en polvo. Eso nos ayudó a refrescarnos un poco más.
Leaving the restaurant we went back to the park where we found some exercise machines, and @panconcajeta was encouraged to exercise on one of them. We kept walking and @fclore22 bought another ice cream, this time mango with chamoy and chili powder. That helped us cool down a bit more.
Una vez acabado nuestro helado nos dirigimos a la iglesia católica apostólica mexicana la cual tiene una historia muy llamativa pues ahí ocurrió un milagro el 3 de marzo de 1978, donde en plena misa una hostia comenzó a sangrar y se convirtió en carne. La iglesia luchó durante mucho tiempo para que el papa reconociera el milagro, incluso la iglesia encargó diversos análisis de laboratorio que determinaron que la muestra contenía eritrocitos humanos de un ADN desconocido. Pese a esto el Vaticano no sólo no reconoció el milagro y dijo que la hostia solo presentaba un hongo, sino que también degradó a la iglesia a una secta más, quitando todo reconocimiento oficial a las actividades eclesiásticas como bautizos, bodas, primeras comuniones. Once we finished our ice cream we headed to the Mexican apostolic catholic church which has a very striking history because a miracle happened there on March 3, 1978, where in the middle of mass a host began to bleed and turned into flesh. The church fought for a long time for the pope to recognize the miracle, even the church commissioned several laboratory tests that determined that the sample contained human erythrocytes of unknown DNA. Despite this, the Vatican not only did not recognize the miracle and said that the host only presented a fungus, but also degraded the church to another sect, removing all official recognition of ecclesiastical activities such as baptisms, weddings, first communions. We took many pictures of the church that we want to share with you although unfortunately we did not find the sacred wafer.
Justo saliendo de la iglesia regresamos de nuevo al parque para acostarnos en el pasto y reposar, de paso tomamos fotos de unas lindas ardillas que estaban por ahí.
Right after leaving the church we went back to the park to lie down on the grass and rest, while we took pictures of some cute squirrels that were around.
Después de un rato nos volvió a dar un poco de hambre y fuimos a comer unos ricos tacos que quedaban cerca, pedimos de pastor y de suadero, una delicia.
After a while we got a little hungry again and went to eat some delicious tacos that were nearby, we ordered pastor and suadero, a delight.
Para finalizar nos regresamos al metro y pasamos a una bodega aurrera para comprar unas cosas aunque no encontramos la mayoría y después nos dirigimos a nuestras casas.
To finish we went back to the subway and went to a bodega aurrera to buy a few things although we did not find most of them and then we headed home.
