Hello dear friends!
Entre el fuerte calor de estos días estuve recordando mi aventura en kayak.
Among the strong heat of these days I was remembering my kayaking adventure.
Una de mis tías paternas nos invito a su casa en la playa, así que fuimos a Chichiriviche Estado Falcón. Partimos de casa a las 11:00 AM, y llegamos a las 2:55 PM, entre el calor de la carretera y la molestia de tener la misma posición por horas decidimos ir a la playa justo al llegar para echarnos un chapuzón (les cuento que allí en Falcón están las playas más hermosas de mi país) además la gente de la zona es tan amable y cálida!
One of my paternal aunts invited us to her beach house, so we went to Chichiriviche Falcon State. We left home at 11:00 AM, and arrived at 2:55 PM. Between the heat of the road and the inconvenience of having the same position for hours, we decided to go to the beach just as we arrived to take a dip (I tell you that there in Falcon are the most beautiful beaches in my country) and the local people are so friendly and warm!
Conversamos con los pescadores y algunas personas de la localidad sobre la situación de nuestro país y sobre como estaba el turismo para entonces. Uno de ellos alquilaba el kayak para los turistas y quiso prestarnos su kayak.
We talked to the fishermen and some local people about the situation in our country and about how tourism was at that time. One of them was renting the kayak for the tourists and wanted to lend us his kayak.
Al día siguiente nos despertamos muy temprano y nos fuimos todos a la playa, como de costumbre, la playa estaba hermosa, la brisa fresca y el agua tibia por el inclemente sol del día. Mi primo Juan y yo estábamos muy emocionados puesto que JAMÁS nos habíamos montado en un kayak. [risas]
The next day we woke up very early and we all went to the beach, as usual, the beach was beautiful, the breeze was fresh and the water was warm because of the inclement sun of the day. My cousin Juan and I were very excited since we had NEVER been in a kayak before. [laughs]
Nuestro buen amigo Víctor (El pescador) nos contó que muy cerca habían unos manglares donde podíamos encontrar ostras, así que nuestra aventura tuvo un segundo propósito aún más divertido, me puse un suéter para no quemarme tanto los brazos y mi primo y yo zarpamos hacía los manglares (He puesto en la fotografía un punto amarillo para que vean donde se ubicaba)
Our good friend Victor (The Fisherman) told us that very close there were some mangroves where we could find oysters, so our adventure had a second purpose even more fun, I put a sweater to not burn my arms so much and my cousin and I set sail towards the mangroves (I put a yellow dot in the picture so you can see where it was located)

Nos tardamos 15 minutos en llegar a los manglares, no pudimos llevar teléfonos ni cámaras porque salpicaba muchísima agua, y no quisimos ponerlos en riesgo. Había mucha brisa y nos costaba mantener la dirección del kayak porque las olas nos llevaban [risas] Al llegar a los manglares nos bajamos del kayak y la textura que sintieron mis pies era una combinación entre algas, arena, lodo, ramas de arboles (realmente no era muy agradable) pero era una hermosa vista, flores rosadas hermosas, enormes cangrejos blancos, y otros que parecían parte de las ramas [risas]
It took us 15 minutes to get to the mangroves, we couldn't bring phones or cameras because there was so much water splashing around, and we didn't want to put them at risk. There was a lot of breeze and it was hard for us to keep track of the direction of the kayak because the waves were carrying us [laughs] When we reached the mangroves we got out of the kayak and the texture that my feet felt was a combination of algae, sand, mud, tree branches (it really wasn't very nice) but it was a beautiful view, beautiful pink flowers, huge white crabs, and others that looked like part of the branches [laughs]
Fue tan divertido y me trajo tanta paz estar allí en medio del agua, sin nada al rededor, solo se puede sentir la brisa y ver uno que otro pez en el agua, es una actividad excelente para relajarse, pensar y despejar la mente un rato.
It was so much fun and brought me so much peace to be there in the middle of the water, with nothing around, you can only feel the breeze and see a few fish in the water, it is an excellent activity to relax, think and clear your mind for a while.
Y si se preguntan si pudimos obtener las ostras, sí [risas] logramos conseguir 10 luego de 3 horas de búsqueda, (porque ninguno de los dos sabía donde encontrarlas), y algunos minutos después vimos que estaban escondidas en los manglares, me llevé un cuchillo para poder retirarlas sin cortarme, el sol nos cansó muy pronto... descansamos y unos minutos después nos devolvimos, eran las 4:00 PM cuando llegamos a la orilla de la playa, mis piernas quedaron enrojecidas del sol y ambos estábamos felices de haber llegado , el sol estaba torturándonos fuertemente [risas] .
Después de todo, solo me queda decir que fue genial!!
And if you are wondering if we could get the oysters, yes [laughs] we managed to get 10 after 3 hours of searching, (because neither of us knew where to find them), and some minutes later we saw that they were hidden in the mangroves, I took a knife to be able to remove them without cutting myself, the sun tired us out very soon. ...we rested and a few minutes later we went back, it was 4:00 PM when we arrived at the shore, my legs were red from the sun and we were both happy to have arrived, the sun was torturing us strongly [laughs].
After all, I can only say it was great!
