So, I am doing The 100-Day Project Challenge again; my second attempt at this creativity "habit building" exercise. You can read more at the above link; or just choose "a creative thing" to pursue for 100 consecutive days... and then use #the100dayproject as one of your first three tags so others on Hive and other social media can find you!
Today is Day 4.
Today's creative effort consisted of another "Soulmate Stone"
Narrow Focus?
Yes, I realize that "painted rocks" is a pretty narrow sort of focus, particularly as an artform. Of course, there are still thousands of people trying to sell their stone art...
10-12 years ago, it was a really interesting and esoteric thing, and my online store on Etsy was doing pretty well. Then came the whole "Friendship Rocks" craze which quickly went viral and worldwide... and suddenly painted rocks went from "an artform" to "something my kid does."
Of course, the novelty of rock painting groups has now worn off, and painted rocks as art is starting to become a thing, again.
But it's still a pretty narrow focus, I realize.
It's unlikely that your kid is painting something like this...
Today's Creative Endeavor:
I "lost" a lot of time today because I spent quite a bit of the day dog sitting for a friend... which meant being away from my creative space.
I did manage to create the "Soulmate Stone" pictured up top... and that was not too bad.
It all just foes to show how "life" often interferes with even the best of intentions. Maybe I'll do better tomorrow!
Actually, I need to get back with my checklist tomorrow.

Minding the Store(s):
Today was one of those days on which most of my work was "invisible."
Meaning that I was checking my listings from both eBay and Etsy, and determining what has to "trade venues" to better fit the new paradigm I'm taking on. I can't really show a photo of that... but it was work done.
Tomorrow I should be able to push things a little further along, and actually start relisting things. One benefit is that I mostly won't have to do much photography.
Social Media Musings:
Sometimes I can't help but think that part of my "issue" with social media — that I don't tend to USE it — stems from the simple fact that I stay quiet unless I feel like I actually have something noteworthy — or of value — to contribute.
In general, I have very little use for it because it just all seems like petty arguments over the color of pocket lint. Who gives a shit?
Evidently, a lot of people.
Sort of shooting myself in the foot here, by not following up on this particular aspect of the challenge...
Final Thoughts for Today:
I can already tell this is going to be a long uphill road... but it takes a while to develop new habits! Some experts believe 28 days, before something "sinks in."
It was not a very impressive day, all in all... but a poignant reminder that what gets in the way of our goals and ambitions is usually... life.
