En el año 2017, oí acerca de un nuevo programa televisivo que compensaba con premios a los ganadores. Me inscribí en la convocatoria y, meses más tarde, me llamaron para coordinar mi asistencia al lugar. Se trataba de ¿En qué mano está?, un programa de entretenimiento de mi país conducido por Leandro "Chino" Leunis, co-conducido por Nati Jota y transmitido por Telefe.
Era la primera vez que salía en televisión (y la única), por lo tanto estaba un poco nervioso. Tres amigos se ofrecieron a acompañarme al estudio televisivo (ubicado a 80km desde mi ciudad), así que sabía que, aunque gane o pierda, me iba a llevar una linda experiencia al vivirlo junto a ellos.
In 2017, I heard about a new television program that compensated winners with prizes. I signed up for the call for entries and, months later, they called me to coordinate my attendance at the venue. It was Which hand is it in?, an entertainment program in my country hosted by Leandro "Chino" Leunis, co-hosted by Nati Jota and broadcast on Telefe.It was the first time I was on television (and the only one), so I was a little nervous. Three friends offered to accompany me to the TV studio (located 80km from my hometown), so I knew that whether I won or lost, I was going to have a nice experience with them.
El programa de entretenimiento consistía de una serie de juegos y desafíos de destreza física e intelectual, premiando al ganador con un auto 0km, viajes o dinero.
Constaba de 6 participantes, divididos en 3 grupos de 2. Cada grupo debía competir entre sí para luego pasar a la semi-final donde, el ganador de cada grupo, disputaría un último juego antes de la instancia final, llamada "El Manotazo".
The entertainment program consisted of a series of games and challenges of physical and intellectual dexterity, rewarding the winner with a 0km car, trips or money.It consisted of 6 participants, divided into 3 groups of 2. Each group had to compete against each other and then move on to the semi-final where the winner of each group would play one last game before the final stage, called "El Manotazo".

El primer juego, llamado "De acá a la luna", consistía en impulsar los bonetes con un adminículo de forma que lleguen hasta la luna, representada con una esfera. Quien impulse los 6 bonetes en el menor tiempo posible, resultaba ganador. En esta oportunidad, mi contrincante jugó primero y lo finalizó en 95 segundos. Tuve la ventaja de ver los errores que cometía mi rival, por lo tanto mi marca fue de 50 segundos. En ese momento estaba 1-0 a favor. Si ganaba el próximo juego, pasaría a la semi-final, en caso contrario, surgiría un desempate.
The first game, called "From here to the moon", consisted of propelling the bonetes with a device so that they reached the moon, represented by a sphere. Whoever propelled the 6 hoods in the shortest time possible was the winner. This time, my opponent played first and finished in 95 seconds. I had the advantage of seeing the mistakes my opponent made, so my mark was 50 seconds. At that moment I was 1-0 in favor. If I won the next game, I would go to the semi-final, otherwise, a tie-breaker would arise.
El segundo juego se llamaba "Boladora", consistía en derribar a una bola de ping-pong suspendía en el aire mediante el lanzamiento de otras bolas iguales, con el requisito de que pique en la superficie. Al igual que en el juego anterior, el ganador surgía de quien lo resuelva en el menor tiempo posible. En esta ocasión jugué primero, y pude derribar a la bola en 11 segundos. En su turno, mi rival no pudo derribarla, por lo tanto gané la primera instancia 2-0 y pasé a la semi-final.
The second game was called "Boladora", which consisted of knocking down a ping-pong ball suspended in the air by throwing other identical balls, with the requirement that it hit the surface. As in the previous game, the winner was the one who solved it in the shortest time possible. This time I played first, and was able to knock the ball down in 11 seconds. In his turn, my opponent could not knock it down, so I won the first instance 2-0 and went on to the semi-final.
En la semi-final, debía completar un juego más para pasar a la última instancia y competir por el premio. De los 6 participantes iniciales, quedamos 3 en juego, de los cuales 2 pasarían a la final. En este caso, el juego consistía en hacer picar una gran pelota inflable de modo tal que quede suspendida por el aire que despedía esa base cilíndrica. Un participante acertó al primer intento, y clasificó a la última instancia. En ese momento tuve que disputar mi oportunidad de llegar a la final con el otro participante. Estuvimos alrededor de 5 rondas sin poder acertar hasta que, luego de mucho suspenso, por fin pude lograrlo.
In the semi-final, I had to complete one more game to move on to the final stage and compete for the prize. Of the 6 initial participants, there were 3 left in the game, 2 of which would go on to the final. In this case, the game consisted of making a large inflatable ball to be suspended by the air emitted by the cylindrical base. One participant got it right on the first try, and qualified for the final round. At that moment I had to dispute my chance to reach the final with the other participant. We spent about 5 rounds without being able to get it right until, after much suspense, I was finally able to do it.
Luego de haber superado las instancias anteriores, pasamos a la etapa final de la competencia, llamada "El Manotazo". Consistía en una serie de preguntas con opciones de posibles respuestas. El primero que cometiera 3 errores, perdía. Mi contrincante se llamaba Mauro, lo único que recuerdo de él es que era estudiante de aviación. Les comentaré las preguntas claves:
- Ambos respondimos las primeras 5 preguntas correctamente.
- En la sexta pregunta ocurrió el primer error, fue por parte de Mauro, quién se confundió en la pregunta: "¿En qué continente se encuentra Surinam?. Él respondió: "Asia", y la respuesta correcta era América del Sur.
- El siguiente error fue también por parte de Mauro, en la séptima pregunta: "¿La costa de cuál de estos países no es bañada por el mar Adriático?", las opciones eran "Italia, España, Croacia". Él respondió la última, pero la correcta era: "España".
- Seguido a su segundo error, yo me equivoco en la octava pregunta: "¿Qué escrito fue el creador del personaje Tom Sawyer?". Respondí: "Charles Dickens", pero la correcta era: "Mark Twain".
- La novena pregunta decía: "¿Los restos de qué famoso poeta descansan en la localidad sudamericana de Isla Negra?", la respuesta correcta era: "Pablo Neruda", pero Mauro respondió: "Federico García Lorca", por lo tanto quedó eliminado del juego, convirtiéndome en el ganador del premio.

The first one to make 3 mistakes lost. My opponent's name was Mauro, the only thing I remember about him was that he was an aviation student. I will tell you the key questions:
That way, I got the prize of $15000 Argentinean pesos (at that time it was about USD$700). Unfortunately, at that time I had no financial knowledge and was not aware of the world of cryptocurrencies. And, at just 19 years old, 60% of the prize I used to pay for accommodation for a vacation with my friends to the Argentine Atlantic Coast (without this help we could not have gone). The rest I distributed in gifts for my family, since they always gave me everything and I had never been able to give them anything material; I bought my father a fishing rod, my mother a book, and my sisters chocolates and sweets.
No gané el coche cero kilómetro, pero obtuve un gran premio por el simple hecho de participar, jugar y divertirme. Viví la experiencia de estar en directo en televisión y, además, fui con mis amigos. I didn't win the zero kilometer car, but I got a great prize for the simple fact of participating, playing and having fun. I lived the experience of being live on television and, in addition, I went with my friends. It was an unforgettable experience and today I wanted to remember it with you.
