Exploring Traditional Market in My Hometown

in GEMS5 years ago
It is a good time to find plenty of surprises around the traditional market that I once visited the east downtown of Lhokseumawe. As we understood, markets are the best places to see how life goes and also provide us a privileged view of different people that live in town. Market, in this case, the traditional market is always crowded by many people who are going to buy or visitors oriented. In many years, the traditional market is seen as the main source of fulfilling the household's needs. Here local people come to find things that they cannot find in normal shops or just to make their deals.

As I can do mine, simply strolling among the stalls, in search of special things that I could bring home and bring up the story to the people about the things that are happening around them.

Somehow, I could not let my lens turn away before shooting these mangoes that were being picked by the buyer. I assumed this fruit was just transported from a remote area in Aceh. The way to make the buyer believe that the mango is fine is by cutting a piece and display them to attract the buyers.

Leave mango alone and let's move to the rose-apple. It is a kind of cheaper fruit in town. The color is tickling me to grab some and I know it is good to consume on a hot day.

The traditional markets are also a good place to find local fruit, food, and fishes. These two women starred at me when I was capturing them. I understood since I came here, I did not see any buyer come to buy their fishes, or perhaps in moments later, they would get many.

I left them for getting another stuff in the market. Yup, I found the dried fishes put in the open boxes.

Not only those things we can find in the traditional market. I tried to capture any activity that was being done by local people. The cheaper sandals and shoes were also a part of the thing that was hunted by the visitors.

All the best @abduhawab
