Hi there! After last week’s marathon I was excited to do a fun 22 km run today. This run I ran together with a friend that is a very experienced ultra runner so it was a great pleasure to hear the stories of his adventures!

I picked a route for us to explore my local area a bit and made a cool mix of paved, unpaved and open field routes.

While we didn’t decided on a pace but rather just moved to the extend we felt comfortable and where we could still chat, this was still a decent pace. Around 20 km I started to notice that there was still some residual fatigue in my system from last week - but that was oke! We planned to do around a half marathon so I knew I could just finish it without any issues.

My heartbeat data shows no real drifts so relatively stable, the fluctuations can mostly explained by different type of routes. The somewhat higher heartrate signals some fatigue still in the system and a bad night doesn’t really help - but I am quite content with this result!

This result signals that I can start building towards my 2026 goals again. Whereas December will still be modest, I do have a fun personal achievement in mind.

I am getting close to 3000 running kilometers in 2025. Which might be a fun little milestone for the last few weeks of this year! Which should provide a nice motivation to still put in some work during holiday season!

Happy running!

Thank you!

Yeah with small kids it is extra though, but also very rewarding! I actually started running when my firstborn was 3 months old just to have some me-time.

Now 10 years later, I still try to find time mostly when the kids are watching tv after dinner, or as a lunch run during work.

Great job! Nice half marathon you put in today, and it must have been nice to have some company. Hopefully that fatigue will pass before the big day! You had a great run, and you're heart rate is doing really well.

Great scenery one the route there, looks like a nice day for a run!

Wow, 22 km fun run. Sounds like an amazing way to explore local routes. Good luck reaching your 3000 km goal, super inspiring.
