¡Hola hivers!💜

Espero que se encuentren bien y felices. Es mi primera vez por esta comunidad y me tope con varios post con el tema de “Tengo un talento” y me encanto. Algo que me ha costado aceptar de mí es mi lado artístico. Tal vez porque la sociedad ha dictado que de eso no se vive y que puede ser algo de niños.

Cuando llegue a la adolescencia lo deje de lado, me enfoque en estudiar y trabajar estando en la universidad, pero cuando la pandemia me hizo detenerme, me hizo ver una parte importante de mi que estaba dejando fuera: mi lado artístico. Volví a escribir para desahogarme, para expresar lo que no podía gritar, pero llegado un punto ya no solo quería escribir, quería fotos e imágenes que expresaran lo que escribía, fue cuando me encontré con el lettering y empecé a practicarlo.

Empecé a practicar porque me gustaba, porque me relajaba y me hacía feliz. Sencillamente porque era algo de mí para mí. Con eso, empecé a buscar información sobre el tema, videos de forma muy autodidacta, y a documentar mi proceso y mis resultados. Dejé de guardar lo que hacía y empecé a compartirlo con todos. De ahí nació Poeticabyg, mi emprendimiento de artes. Empecé vendiendo los materiales que necesitaba para hacer lettering y que eran difíciles de conseguir en mi ciudad. Hoy, 3 años después, me dedico a enseñar lettering.

Si bien, las artes se me dan bien, puedo dibujar y hacer letras hermosas, el talento del que quería hablarles no era de ese, sino de mi talento para enseñar, para compartir este hermoso mundo con niños, jóvenes y adultos, con cualquiera que esté dispuesto a aprender del lettering. No me creía capaz de enseñar, dado que no tenía estudios formales avalados por algún instituto, pero no me rendí. Seguí leyendo, practicando, encontré cursos online con maestros del lettering que ilustraban para grandes marcas y se abrió un mundo de posibilidades para mi.

Lo menos que puedo hacer es compartirlo, así que me he dedicado a enseñar y con eso descubrí que es algo que me encanta, poder compartir con otro una de mis principales pasiones; el lettering.

I hope you are well and happy. This is my first time in this community and I came across several posts with the theme “I have a talent” and I loved it. Something that has been hard for me to accept is my artistic side. Maybe because society has dictated that this is not something to live on and that it can be something for children.

When I became a teenager I put it aside, I focused on studying and working while I was in college, but when the pandemic made me stop, it made me see an important part of me that I was leaving out: my artistic side. I went back to writing to let off steam, to express what I couldn't shout, but at a certain point I didn't just want to write, I wanted pictures and images to express what I was writing, that's when I came across lettering and started practicing it.

I started practicing because I liked it, because it relaxed me and made me happy. Simply because it was something of me for me. With that, I started to look for information on the subject, videos in a very self-taught way, and to document my process and my results. I stopped saving what I was doing and started sharing it with everyone. That's how Poeticabyg, my arts venture, was born. I started selling the materials I needed to do lettering and that were hard to get in my city. Today, 3 years later, I teach lettering.

Although I am good at the arts, I can draw and make beautiful letters, the talent I wanted to talk about was not that, but my talent to teach, to share this beautiful world with children, youth and adults, with anyone who is willing to learn lettering. I didn't believe I was capable of teaching, since I had no formal studies endorsed by any institute, but I didn't give up. I kept reading, practicing, I found online courses with lettering masters who illustrated for big brands and a world of possibilities opened up for me.

The least I can do is to share it, so I have dedicated myself to teaching and with that I discovered that it is something I love, to be able to share with others one of my main passions; lettering.
