Hello everyone. Welcome to my post 😄
How are you today? These days in some Asian countries are the time when people are completing year-end work to prepare for the most important event of the year: Lunar New Year. I have also completed most of the year's work and entered the Tet holiday period. Therefore, starting today, I will start sharing a series to describe the process of preparing for Tet of my family as well as my hometown. It will include the stages of cleaning and decorating the house and also the recipe of traditional dishes of my hometown.😉
The important meaning of Tet holiday
Spring has come, Tet has come knocking on everyone's door, double joy, double happiness. Children look forward to Tet more than adults. Adults say Tet is fun but there are more things to worry about, buy more things and spend more money. But the children don't care about that, because Tet is the occasion when we have more new clothes, get lucky money, get gifts, eat cake, don't have to worry about studying. Maybe it's something every kid loves.🤗
I don't know how Tet is in other places, but Tet in my hometown is always full of laughter and wishes for a happy and prosperous new year. On the small roads still smell of gravel, the grass covering the path has been trimmed very cleanly by the villagers. Because in my village, every day near Tet, every family invites each other to clean and decorate the streets, alleys, and houses to prepare for Tet.
#1 Home decoration
Step 1: Go to market!!!😄
In order to have items to decorate the house, my father and I spent an afternoon so we could go to the market and buy the necessary items. It's been a long time since I went to the market with my father and this is also an opportunity for us to chat and choose our favorite items.
When my father and I arrived, the market was already crowded. A vast land was covered with brilliant stalls. The skillful people come early to set up the huts, the generous people just need to spread the canvas and display the goods. The goods are extremely diverse, but they all have one thing in common: they are used for Tet. From meat, fish, vegetables, to fruits, clothes, shoes. Then there are all kinds of household items for everyone to buy such as cutting boards, pillows, cupboards... Along with items dedicated to the ancestral altar such as votive papers, incense burners, white sand... Anything is available a lot of.
The most attractive and crowded, there are still stalls selling decorative accessories for Tet. No matter how rich or poor people are, people are still intoxicated with the so-called Tet celebration. Anyone who comes to the market also stops by these stalls, buys a pair of couplets, gold pins, small Banh chung to hang on the door, peach, and apricot branches for spring atmosphere.😊
After the tour and selection process, we also selected the necessary items. Dad and I had to go home right away because it took us about an hour - quite a while to go to the market. So we were afraid that there wouldn't be enough time in the afternoon to get the job done.
Step 2: Let's start decorating the house!!!😄
After having all the equipment, we began to decorate the gate with long strings of shimmering light bulbs to create an indescribable beauty. They combine to create extremely eye-catching colors. It took us almost 3 hours to put them all together.😔
By the time we're done, we're also eligible to see our results. And suddenly, light up, we are completely satisfied with the results.
Although today is quite a hard day, I and my dad are very happy and happy. In the next posts, I will share with you more interesting things about my family's Tet preparations. 😁
Thanks for reading!!!
Have a nice day 😉
