If you can saw a straight line with a handsaw and then get a powered Skil saw, let's say, you have learned way more than the guy who started on an electric saw. If you get the best guitar in the world it is not going to give you ideas. It may sound good and be easy to play but that's it. The down side is then you have no excuses for your limitations. As far as I can tell subject matter and framing are the big things you need to have a great photo. My son has a good eye and takes great photos from his phone. Better tools can help but they won't give you creativity. Did Shakespeare need a word processor to write his best works? If he had a better quill pen would they be better?
