Your rabbit didn't mean any harm though... they do this instinctively.
In the wild, a rabbit's best defence against predators is to run away as fast as possible and get to the safety of their underground burrow before they're caught. Anything that's blocking the path to safety could mean the difference between life and death, if they were to get tangled up while trying to escape. So, they chew through these obstacles while there's no danger to ensure a clear run when there is. In nature this means branches, twigs, vines, tree roots, et cetera. But, in a domestic setting, it means electric cords and data cables, unfortunately! 😬
