In mid April, I first heard about the good news: my boyfriend's brother will be married soon. They arranged a family meeting to finalize a few more details and extended the invitation to me. I happily obliged. Their family gatherings are always filled with fun and food. If I recalled it correctly, it was my boyfriend's idea to bring everyone in Board and Trays. For one, it is near their family home and the food tastes impeccable.
My boyfriend used to exclaim joy while sharing stories of his dining experience in this small coffee shop near their home in Mandaue City. He used to spend a lot of time here, completing work, studying or writing for his research. Sometimes, he'd stop by while waiting for his motorcycle to be repaired in the adjacent auto repair shop.
All this time, I really thought that it's just a small coffee shop which offers a limited number of dishes just like any other coffee shops in town. I was shocked to learn that they have a menu that can cater a wide array of cravings from sweet to savory. Their menu is jampackaed from salads, appetizers, pasta and noodles, sandwhiches, wraps and burgers, and rice meals; while for the drinks, the world-famous milktea is in the house. If milktea isn't your cup of tea, then you can choose from the usual caffeinated drinks; they also offer different lemon-based drinks and other non-coffee drinks. Take your pick, this small coffee shop seemed to have it all!
While the informal discussion was ongoing, food was served and it was time to judge each food we ordered. I must say my boyfriend has indeed great taste! I love everything I tried from the handmade pizza to the wrap. Everything was to my liking. We had an productive day; I believe we were able to cover all topics that needed to be clarified then. I guess great food generates great ideas! I'll tell you more about how the wedding went some other time!
