Hace tiempo que tenía pendiente restaurar el viejo escarabajo de la familia que quedó en la casa.

I had long wanted to restore the old family Beetle that was left in the house.

En plena pandemia puse manos a la obra y comencé por restaurar algunas piezas del tren delantero

In the middle of the pandemic, I got to work and started by restoring some parts of the undercarriage.

El proceso fue retirar las piezas a restaurar, lijarlas hasta retirar todo el óxido y luego aplicar una pintura para que se mantengan. Lo mismo hice con el tanque y lo que vendría siendo el baúl del carro en la parte delantera.

The process was to remove the parts to be restored, sand them to remove all the rust and then apply a paint to keep them. I did the same with the tank and what would become the trunk of the car in the front.

Luego de comprar varios repuestos y hacerle mantenimiento al motor el carro estuvo operativo durante unos meses, algo que me llenó de mucha alegría porque a pesar de ser un carro viejo del año 72, me llena de nostalgia verlo rodar, ya que era el carro de mi abuela.

After buying several spare parts and maintaining the engine, the car was operational for a few months, something that filled me with great joy because despite being an old car from 72, it fills me with nostalgia to see it running, since it was my grandmother's car.

Ahora mismo no está en funcionamiento, porque faltan algunos detalles que arreglar para que no pierda aceite de la caja, así que este año la meta es poder sacarlo a la calle nuevamente, espero poder traer buenas noticias luego.

Right now it is not working, because there are some details to fix so that it does not lose oil from the box, so this year the goal is to be able to take it to the street again, I hope to bring good news later.
