A paradise 50 minutes from my house! Visiting Playa Escondida🇻🇪 🏝 (Hidden Beach)

I live in Caracas, the capital of Venezuela, a small and overcrowded city which has a great privilege: It’s 30 min away from the beach! Miranda, the state where I live, borders on the north with La Guaira, Vargas State, a coastal region with 64 beaches!

I haven’t visited La Guaira in many years. I used to do it a lot when I was a child, every vacation and some weekends, It’s a place that holds a lot of my childhood memories, but once I became an adult, I stopped going. Recently, I’ve met a really special person, Macarena, she's an immigrant from Táchira, one of the Andean States. She told me that she loves the beach but it’s a 24 hours road trip from her old house! So her parents didn’t take her that much, so now that she’s an adult living in the Capital next to the beach, never loses the opportunity to go and she knows more beaches than I do.

When you have something so close and so easy to reach, for some reason, it loses value. Then something (or someone) reminds you how lucky you are to have it. We have to remember to ourselves to be thankful and appreciate things around us.

Even tho I’ve been visiting La Guaira since I was a kid, like I said, I don’t know all the 64 beaches 😂 We went to a new and very paradisiac one: Playa Escondida (Hidden beach) in Caraballeda. It’s a small beach surrounded by hotels, we spent the night in the Caraballeda Caribe Club.

First thing we do it’s to go to our room and WHAT?! The view let us shocked. It was stunning, you can see the beach to the left and the pool to the right, and all the extension of the Caribbean Sea. The colors are amazing! The bluest blue, the most gorgeous green and a very clear sand. So photogenic😍

I haven’t were a swimsuit in a lot of time and, being honest, even tho I was uncomfortable the first minutes, here I was feeling myself! I loooove one piece swimsuits! And black is a color for me. haha.

We spent the day at the beach and then we went to the pool where we ate an oblea! A very common beach snack in my country. At the end of the day, we went upstairs to our room and a beautiful sunset let us speechless again.

The first day, the waves were fine. The sea was calm so we could swim nicely. But the second day, the sea got really mad! A strong ocean surf received us and we barely could swim. One of the waves swept me away, I swallowed a lot of water and the rocks under the water scratched my back. It was scary but also fun😂

We went back home at the afternoon. I was watching the sea the whole trip, feeling thankful and recharged for my week.

¡Hola Comunidad de Hive!

Vivo en Caracas, la capital de Venezuela, una ciudad pequeña y superpoblada que tiene un gran privilegio: ¡está a 30 min de la playa! Miranda, mi estado, limita al norte con La Guaira, Estado Vargas, una región costera con 64 playas.

Hace muchos años que no visito La Guaira. Lo hacía mucho cuando era niña, todas las vacaciones y algunos fines de semana, es un lugar que guarda muchos recuerdos de mi infancia, pero una vez que me hice adulta, dejé de ir. Recientemente conocí a una persona realmente especial, Macarena, que es una inmigrante del Táchira, uno de los estados andinos de mi país. Me dijo que le encanta la playa, pero que su antigua casa está a 24 horas de viaje por carretera. Entonces, sus padres no la llevaban mucho, así que ahora que es adulta y vive en la Capital, al lado de la playa, nunca pierde la oportunidad de ir y conoce más playas que yo.

Cuando tienes algo tan cerca y tan fácil de alcanzar, por alguna razón pierde valor. Pero puede llegar algo (o alguien) que te recuerda la suerte que tienes de tenerlo. Tenemos que recordarnos a nosotros mismos que debemos estar agradecidos y apreciar las cosas que nos rodean.

Aunque visito La Guaira desde pequeña, como dije, no conozco las 64 playas 😂 Macarena me llevó a una nueva y muy paradisíaca: Playa Escondida en Caraballeda. Es una pequeña playa rodeada de hoteles, nosotros pasamos la noche en el Caraballeda Caribe Club.

Lo primero que hacemos es ir a nuestra habitación y ¿QUÉ? La vista nos dejó locas. Se ve la playa a la izquierda, la piscina a la derecha y, detrás, toda la extensión del Mar Caribe. Los colores son hermosos, el azul más azul, el verde más bonito y la arena clarita. Todo muy fotogénico😍

Hacía mucho tiempo que no me ponía traje de baño y, siendo sincera, aunque me sentí incómoda los primeros minutos, ¡me sentía increíble! Me encantan los enterizos y el negro es un color importante para mí, jaja.

Pasamos el día en la playa y luego fuimos a la piscina donde comimos una oblea, un snack playero muy común en mi país. Al final del día, subimos a nuestra habitación y un precioso atardecer nos volvió a dejar boquiabiertas.

El primer día, las olas estaban bien. El mar estaba en calma por lo que pudimos nadar tranquilas. Pero el segundo día, ¡el mar se volvió loco! Nos recibió un oleaje FORTÍSIMO, apenas podíamos nadar. Una de las olas me revolcó, tragué mucha agua y las piedras debajo del agua me arañaron la espalda. Fue aterrador pero también divertido😂

Regresamos a casa por la tarde. Macarena condujo y yo estuve mirando el mar durante todo el viaje, sintiéndome agradecida y recargada.
