Hi Liketu,
I spent about 30 minutes today talking about my visit to Sri Lanka, and it made me want to look through my camera reel. I just came across some photographs I took at Yala National Safari Park and had to share them with you.
This was the first time I used a professional camera, and I was very excited to try it out in such a beautiful setting.
I remember arriving at the Safari Park and checking into a beautiful shack on the grounds. The bed was beautifully decorated with rose petals and a huge mosquito net draped over the double bed. This was a happy moment since the rest of my trip I dealt with a 'make-shift' net, which I tried to hang from anything possible.
We arrived late afternoon and shared the evening at the restaurant on the grounds with our tour guide (whom we spent two weeks with and became friends with). He ordered some traditional dishes for this area of Sri Lanka and a bottle of Arrack.
I remember having such a fun evening, full of exchanged stories and a LOT of Arrack.
The next morning we needed to be awake by 3 am, ready to set off for our Safari tour in a 4x4 jeep. So off we went, slightly hungover but extremely excited for the day ahead.
We spent all day out and managed to see a huge range of wildlife.
It was a beautiful trip.
Love.Lindsay x
