Hello guys!
Join with me as I go back to 2019, Flag Football days (pre pandemic season).
I know that most of you are not familiar with Flag Football Sports. The common perception when people hear the word "Football" is an all men game and think of the famous game "Rugby". But Flag Football, is different. We use the same ball as the Rugby game but this one is composed of women.
Whenever I share to people that I play flag football, they surely are amazed at first hear. Of course, a small woman playing football? How is that possible?
My position is a Defensive Line, it needs speed, strategic thinking, strength, and body coordination. My role is to de-flag the Quarter back before he finds the opportunity to pass the ball to his team members (offense team). So, if ever I failed my job, I have to run to the center of the field and help my defense team members to catch the one who is bringing by de flagging him or her.
In my case, I do not have the arm/muscle strength since I am really cute. What I just do is that I try to beat the Offensive Line with speed and strategy. I surely could not beat them up with strength though. I cannot afford to embarrass myself and be pancaked and humiliated in front of the audience. Hahaha So I never dare to let them catch me.
Honestly, I love the flag football community because they are so friendly and welcoming. They are not knowledge greedy when it comes to teaching the game. They are so helpful and determined. They help you become better not just a player but also as a person. There is never a boring moment when I with my flag football mates/friends. I missed them. I missed my life during my flag football days. I missed the laughter, the tears when we lose the game, the huddles and the memorable moments we shared together before and after the game.
I want to play again. Not now but Soon. I will.
