Happy world animal day!

Today is world animal day and that calls for giving our furry (and less furry) friends some extra bit of loving! For me this is being appreciative to my furry doggo who always makes sure that I get in the 10K steps a day. The funny thing is with heading out on walks, is that I lterally never feel like going. And once I am outside, I am always appreciative that I went because being outdoors is just good stuff. I am always wondering if doggo would not be around, how much walking I would do without him. I guess a lot less actually if I am honest with myself.


This also means that when I am walking within somewhere else, because of the walking and taking time, this really gives the oppertunity to enjoy the scenery. When biking of driving you have to pay a lot more attention and the landscape passes you by quite fast. But when walking, that is when the attention goes into the details. The squirrel that is jumping from branch to branch. The antfarms which are eating the old fallen trees. The goats and sheep at the farm which are still running around and running towards you when passing by. The colour of the leaves that is slowly starting to change. There is so much detail to see when you take the time to see it.


Also the favorite time in the morning when I am getting out of bed (and trust me...I ain't no morning person) and opening the door, guess who is there? Just a bundle of happy vibes coming to collect some hugs as if it was months ago that you saw him for the last time. Shrugging against you, full on tail wagging just being so happy. I can not imagine mornings without doggo being there in the morning as he is the most fun one.


But also because of the attitude the animal can give you. They say Appenzeller mountain dogs (my dog is half Bernese and half Appenzeller) are literally dogs who decide themselves if they want to listen to you or not. This is totally true. You can really see on the look on doggos face if he will take to moment to listen to you. Or just raise his chin, turn around and walk away like he doesn't feel like it today. How annoying this may be sometimes, I do like this spunk in a creature.


So today is a moment of appeciation for these entities that are lives amongst us. Choosing their own path, doing their own thing, but also just really being a part of the family as well. Happy world animal day!
