Greetings, friends.
I continue to enjoy the fabulous spirit of the Middle Ages in the Netherlands. There are historical sites, buildings, houses and parks at every turn.
There is a beautiful castle not far from where I live. Its construction began in the 13th century. Then, for several centuries, the building was developed and took on new shapes. It acquired its final appearance in the 16th century. Interestingly, the castle is located on an artificial island. It is surrounded by a moat with water on all sides. You can get inside only by crossing a bridge. This beautiful glass crossing was built in modern times, namely in 2013. After the Dutch billionaire bought the estate, he restored it and restored the landscape of the surrounding park.
The castle is very beautiful. You can see its haughty figure for miles. I really like everything around it. It is especially interesting to go down a few steps to the basement. There you can see the masonry of the first building. It's as if the history and spirit of the past itself attracts and beckons.
There is a bench next to one of the entrances. It is so skilfully made that it seems as if the ivy leaves that adorn it are not metal, but real. On one side of the castle there is a fountain. It gives the surrounding landscape a festive look.
In general, the whole territory, like the castle itself, is very beautiful. I am grateful to the owner who allows free access to everyone. And there are a lot of them. On a fine day, it is extremely crowded here. I also like to come here.
