Hi, there beautiful people! Howβs everybody doing? Did all of you enjoy the long weekend?
It's been a while since my last post. I've been busy with work and other stuff. Finally, had the time to compose a post now.
Just wanna share with you the things that kept me busy lately. Aside from the adjustment I had to deal with at my new job, I also was busy with all the preparations made for our little business. PUTO MAYA was our bread-and-butter since 1984, but when the pandemic happened our parents had to give it up.
Our loyal patrons missed it so much and kept asking us if weβll sell puto maya again. So, in the middle of 2020, I and my sisters decided to bring it back. We market it online and had able to sell it outside the house with a proper display table used.
I asked my parents to teach me everything I need to know, from the ingredients needed to how to make it. I was happy to be able to know everything. Our Facebook page was growing and a lot of new customers loved our product.
Then Odette happened. I stopped making it. I lose interest in the business. It took me years to realize that puto maya should not be stopped. So, late last month I decided to sell again starting holy week. I was overwhelmed by all the orders. Ten kilos sold out on Holy Thursday. Grateful for all the support of our loyal customers.
Making puto maya is a tiring process, it needs patience, courage, and a lot of strength. I am glad that I have a partner who supports me and helped me with all the preparations.
A feeling of fulfillment every time I hear a good compliment from our customers. I am just so proud of myself. I didn't even see this one coming, that I will be the one managing and pursuing what my parents have built.
