Hoy estaba transitando las calles de la ciudad con mi madre,
Y creí haberte visto.
Mi corazón iba a miles de revoluciones por segundo,
Mis neuronas colisionaban entre sí en ese instante,
Mi cuerpo no estaba en todos sus sentidos
Y el alma me abandonó por tal susto que se llevó.
Estoy un poco ciega desde hace tiempo,
Pero mi cabeza decía otra cosa,
Ya que sólo vi un rostro;
Un rostro alejado y borroso, bajo un árbol de cerezo
Que esparcía pétalos en todas direcciones.
Juré que eras tú, por aquella mirada de aquel chico;
Era más intensa que mi ansiedad por las madrugadas…
Rápidamente seguí mi camino,
Porque recordé que ahora yacemos en el olvido,
Como unos desconocidos más del montón
Y que debí haberte despintado de mi mente hace largos años.

Today I was walking the streets of the city with my mother,
And I thought I saw you.
My heart was going a thousand revolutions per second,
My neurons were colliding with each other in that instant,
My body was not in all its senses
And my soul abandoned me for such a scare it took.
I've been a little blind for a long time,
But my head said otherwise,
For I saw only a face;
A face far away and blurred, under a cherry tree
That scattered petals in all directions.
I swore it was you, because of that boy's gaze;
It was more intense than my early morning anxiety...
I quickly went on my way,
Because I remembered that now we lay in oblivion,
As just another stranger in the pile
And that I should have unpainted you from my mind long years ago.
