Yoshi is almost six months old, which means he is in the last part of his growth and will be fully grown soon. I still need to get a measuring tape or something to see how long he is, but it is crazy how much bigger he is now than when I got him in December.

Back when I first got him, he was about the size of my pinky. Now his body is too big for just my hand and with his tail, he is about as long as my forearm. I had always wanted to have a chameleon as a pet when I was younger, but I am glad that I waited until I was an adult because they are a lot of work.

You need to clean their cage constantly because crickets die, poop is all over and it starts to stink if you don't clean every two days or so. Some people use some sort of a fake moss carpet or other sort of substrate on the bottom of their cages, but I have read that sometimes the chameleons miss crickets and end up eating some of the substrate and it can make them sick, so I decided to just keep the bottom of the cage bare and just clean it more often.

I bought another pack of hornworms for him to eat, but they just hatched, so I need to let them grow for a few days before they are big enough for him to eat. He really loves eating the hornworms and I think he will get some good nutrition for his last big growth spurt before he sheds again.

He changed so much @derangedvisions 😊 stunning.
The details and colours on his skin now.
Beautiful.

Ya, he has gotten huge. lol

Beautiful to have seen him change from your first post to now 😎

He has grown into such a fine looking young man! I've really enjoyed reading about his journey so far.

It has been crazy to watch him grow. They are such a weird species.

He looks quite different now with the red stripes. Do you find that his appetite has increased dramatically with his growth these few months?

Ya, he has been eating a lot more lately. They usually slow down with their appetite once they reach their full grown size.

Interesting, much like us humans then!
