Only a few days separate my mom's birthday and mother's day. Just because I saw her on her birthday doesn't mean I wasn't going to make time to see her on mother's day. @flowerbaby had plans to hang out with her mom on that day and I figured it made sense for all four of us to get together. So that is exactly what we made plans to do.
The first part of our day was to watch a showing of the new movie called The Northman. All four of us love films and none of us had seen this one yet. We went to a newly remodeled movie theater that none of us had been to yet. The place looks totally different than it used to and that is not a bad thing at all. The best part of all was the fact that the seats in the theater were extremely nice. It was basically like being in a leather recliner and all of us were able to get very comfortable during the 2+ hours of watching the film.
None of us loved The Northman, but none of us hated it either. It had some good parts, but it was nothing like we expected. It reminded me a lot of the story in Assasin's Creed Valhalla. There were several really trippy moments that seemed like a hallucination. There were even a few parts that made us laugh. The main thing to know about the film is that it is slow, dark, and true to the history of the Viking way of life.
After the movie, we all went to Quaker Steak & Lube for some food. They recently took my favorite burger off the menu, so that was a bit disappointing. Luckily, the food was still really good and we all had a great time together. We took a few photos before we left and then that was the end of our day. We spent a solid 4 hours together and I am very happy that my mom and my girlfriend's mom get along well.
I have to brag about how beautiful my mother is. I am lucky to have those genes.
