Hi Everyone
These are some small art projects my father has been working on out in his art shed.
The painting that is framed is for my Grandmothers 80th birthday which is in July. Its based on a Summer holiday vacation home we stayed in when my brother and I were kids.
The small canvas paintings are inspired by the coast here in east central Scotland. The one with the harbour is inspired by Crail harbour a favourite spot for me and my father to go walking.
The painted stones with the googly eyes are for my nephews, my dads 2 grandsons, they are 8 and 4 years old. We have this project called rocks in Fife where school kids visit various outdoor spots to hide painted rocks , the idea is that other kids find them and trade them with their own rocks.
I keep telling myself I'm going to start my own art projects soon, hopefully this is the year I finally get around to it, these tiny canvases have me inspired enough to try something soon.

goes without saying: I love these rocks... check out #hiverocks ;)
Wow I had no idea there was a community here on Hive for rock art that promotes the hive blockchain. What a wonderful idea. I think you just helped me find inspiration for an art project. :)
there used to be a great community for #googlyeyes, too... but I guess I failed to keep it alive
You have the genetics to become a great artist like your father. Hopefully you get started sooner rather than later!
Thanks so much for the encouraging words. I think I'm going to pick up a few of those mini canvases soon and try something with watercolour paints.
its pretty amazing how small they are and yet so detailed.
