The rural Thai way of life involves waking up early in the morning to prepare rice and food for offering alms to monks at the temple. In some cases, individuals residing far from the temple conduct this ritual in front of their own houses. As dawn breaks, monks from the local temple walk along the roads to receive alms from the people. By around 7 a.m., they return to the temple to perform the breakfast ceremony.
For those living in close proximity to the temple, such as my mother's house, this morning tradition becomes a regular part of daily life. Each morning, when I visit her, I find myself rising early to participate in the practice of giving alms to the temple. In rural areas, these temples hold significant spiritual importance and serve as the central hubs for the villagers' religious and communal activities.
