I'm still using busy as an excuse but I get fed up listening to my own excuses too. For the most part, I've been gathering a lot of content to build an image library and downloading several tutorials worth hours to consume just so I can say I've been consistent at learning the craft.

My other social media pages: DeviantArt, Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook

Wow, this is nice, Adam. I like your style, can I steal it? Jk.
By the way, are you more comfortable drawing girls than boys?

Steal it. It's not my style or still unrefined to what I mentally want to take form. You can check out the artist Parkjinsuky on IG as my inspiration for the style then mixing it to other manga artists. I draw girls for the eyes because putting those on male faces seem off. I'll expand what I do once I get more confidence in drawing girls.

I get fed up listening to my own excuses too.

Great to see it! I force myself to draw when I feel like I'm being lazy or just procrastinating. I force myself to just scribble and draw random things that come to mind with little effort, it forces me to still draw but also mess around with shapes; it really helps to get you a bit warmed up when you're feeling a bit off too, since you may end up just pouring effort into a random thing that came to mind.

I'm doing a mantra to get things done even if I'm not intentionally trying to finish. Force myself to spend 5-15 minutes drawing per day. It doesn't matter what the end result looks like or if I continue yesterday's work, as long as I just keep repeating this system and focusing on that limited time. I think that has more value than hours spent doing something while distracted. Idk, works for me.

Yeah that really helps ensure you get some practice in. I really wasn't feeling it today but I picked up my pen and some paper and just started practicing really simple perspectives. Nothing detailed, just the shapes behind the body relative to perspective. Isn't requiring much brain power or attention, and I'm still noticing that I get it.

When I started to learn to draw I definitely dived into things and got ahead of myself, that absolutely resulted in me burning out fast because everything was just shit and I clearly had little idea of what I was doing. The moment I started to relax and do these types of exercises, I saw that I was improving and enjoying it more.

But I still have these days where procrastination tries to seep through and stop me. It's so hard to escape that sometimes, like you said too: you feed yourself those excuses and accept them. To see that you're doing that, and then breaking from it, is definitely a good thing.

What resources have you been using to learn? Figure Drawing Design and Invention by Michael Hampton has been one of the best I've found so far.

Cute tiny little nose 😆 glad you’re getting back into it, watching/studying is all well and good but you gotta get the prac in too 🙃

It's a slow drag but I know it's a hard pill I need to swallow to get better UwU

There is plenty of frustration involved at every stage, get used to it and don't forget to feel proud of your progress and how things look compared to the last ones (and not to how other people do) :)

I wish I could draw like that maybe I would've started writing a story on a manga or something.

I want to Post manga recommendation articles but there's no active manga community so I was wondering if I could post it on The Anime Realm.

Share it on Anime Realm, anything under the banner of Anime related content is welcome. You can draw like this, takes some time to get used to but I believe everyone can draw. It's just a difference in how much you will settle for a style of your own or explore more references.

Ugh~ perfect
Love the eyelashes, that was the first thing I saw

Won't i come and learn from you like this. I love this, great indeed

Thank you!

You are welcome

ME2!!!!! :D:D:D

I just bought Affinity Designer and I am learning that program xD

I just settled for Paint Tool SAI 2, easy to learn and does mostly what I intend my end look would be. I do like to expand to photoshop and other programs but that's digital painting territory when I'm just barely holding on digital drawing.

I looked at Paint Tool SAI 2 before aswell as an alternative, quite good from what I have read! :D

I 100% understand, I am still paying for Photoshop a few months more as part of a package deal x)

But I will rather focus on Vector Art with a bit of drawing if nessercary.

Looks more fun to me :P

Vector art is good, I like how images aren't limited to a fixed resolution but there's a limit to it if you want to pursue digital painting.

Vector is just fun :D

I don't know what I want to pursue. I would more likely like to have Digital Painting/Vector art as a hobby and maybe even sell a bit of paintings right.

I feel like its a good start, I need to start somewhere, if its too hard, its hard to push through it with my adhd x)

Ah, you are back at it again.

It's a slow step by step walk like dedicating 5 to 15 minutes a day than letting things rust. This one took me a few days with a few minutes per day to do. Eventually, I just get fed up with my own excuses and regretting I wish I did things gradually.

Wow so nice. Is this an anime character or just an original from you?

Just a doodle from my head space~

Real nice😂😂

This is an amazing drawing... If only I took mine more seriously. ~ sighs.

Hi. I'm Vincent. So nice to see you. :)
