I read with great interest an intervention by @tosolini on the Italian government's proposal to raise the taxation of cryptocurrencies from 26% to 42% and on how this can be the antechamber to raise taxation also on the rest of financial investments.

I have to say that it worried me and not a little. As an adult who believes in saving and investing as a method to create a serene old age, a scenario with 42% taxation has an apocalyptic. It really means working until retirement, which will always move further as age, so working until you have breath.

But it also means reducing the power of capital compared to that of labour. That would also be a good thing in a civilised country.

The problem is that the work in Italy is poorly paid and already in itself has little power.

I don't know what the future will hold for you, but I sincerely hope that this will never happen.

On the passage of taxation on

Crypto, I find the move short-sighted for the government. It means being completely antagonistic to the sector, when the rest of the world is going in the opposite direction, with America showing openness to crypto from both political sides in the election campaign.

It would be enough for the Italian opposition to be vaguely more open on the subject to position itself better than the current government.

Ho letto con molto interesse un intervento di @tosolini sulla proposta del governo italiano di alzare la tassazione delle cryptovalute dal 26% al 42% e su come questa possa essere l’anticamera per alzare la tassazione anche sul resto degli investimenti finanziari.

Devo dire che mi ha preoccupato e non poco. Come adulto che crede nel risparmio e nell’investimento come un metodo per crearsi una vecchiaia serena, uno scenario con tassazioni al 42% ha un che di apocalittico. Significa davvero lavorare fino alla pensione, che si sposterà sempre più avanti come età, quindi lavorare fino a che si ha fiato.
Ma significa anche ridimensionare il potere del capitale rispetto a quello del lavoro. Il che sarebbe anche una cosa positiva in un paese civilizzato.
Il problema è che il lavoro in Italia è mal retribuito e già di per sé ha poco potere.
Non so cosa vi aspetterà il futuro, ma spero sinceramente che questo non si verifichi mai.

Sul passaggio di tassazione sulle
Crypto, trovo la mossa poco lungimirante per il governo. Significa mostrarsi completamente antagonisti al settore, quando il resto del mondo va in una direzione opposta, con l’America che in campagna elettorale mostra apertura alle crypto da entrambi gli schieramenti politici.

Basterebbe che l’opposizione italiana si mostrasse vagamente più aperta sul tema per posizionarsi meglio dell’attuale governo.
