In the current edition of Soulbounds cards, there are many useful and powerful cards to be used in battles, but there are some that are powerful but also a curse to have in battle because they have a form of Debuff for your allies and today I will talk about one of these cards, the Shock Tropper.
The Shock Tropper is an epic card from the current Soulbound edition and although it is very powerful since it has 4 magic attack and costs only 4 mana, it has 1 ability that will be like a curse for all its allies and for this reason I don't really like to use it in my battles.
The ability I'm talking about is Electrified and it will cause 1 damage to all allied monsters at the beginning of each round, but it only starts causing damage at the beginning of the second round.
The damage caused by the Electrified ability cannot be avoided by any other ability and it ignores the monsters' armor and causes damage directly to their health.
1 damage may seem like little, but if the battle lasts several rounds, it will be a big loss since many of your monsters can be defeated just because of the Electrified ability without taking any damage from the opponent's monsters.
I always avoid using the Shock Trooper in my battles, but there are 2 exceptions.
The first is when I think the battle will last a few rounds.
The second is when the Back to Basics rule applies to the battle.
Many battles last a few rounds, especially when the amount of mana available is low, so in these battles the Shock Trooper can be used since it would cause little damage to your allies.
In the Back to Basics rule, all monsters lose their abilities, which means that the Shock Trooper will lose the Electrified ability and will not cause damage to allies, so it becomes a great choice since it has 4 magic attack and costs only 4 mana.
In addition to the Electrified ability, the Shock Trooper has 2 more abilities, Swiftness and Magic Reflect.
The Swiftness ability will increase the speed of all allied monsters by +1 while the Shock Trooper is in battle.
The Magic Reflect ability will make the Shock Trooper deal 50% of the magic damage received back to the monster that attacked it with a magic attack, this means that if a monster with 4 magic attack attacks the Shock Trooper, it will deal 2 damage to the monster that attacked it.
Although the Swiftness and Magic Reflect abilities are very useful in battles, they do not compensate for the Electrified ability, so in my opinion, it is only worth using the Shock Trooper in the 2 situations I mentioned before.
