Meriput Slinger, The Enemy of Speed

in Olio di Balena5 days ago

As I've mentioned in my other posts, I really like cards that cause debuffs on my opponent and I know it may seem like a sneaky strategy but it's fun to watch in battle and it also increases my chances of winning since my opponent's cards will be weaker.

My main goal with the Glint gains currently is to get my collection of current Soulbounds cards to the maximum level before a new edition of Soulbounds cards is released. It will probably still be a long time before a new Soulbound edition is released, but I don't like to leave things to the last minute and prefer to focus on them now so I can later accumulate Glint for new items that may appear in the rewards store or to buy Titles since they are tradable assets, so it would be an additional profit in the game.

One of the Soulbounds cards that catches my attention is the Meriput Slinger, it is a monster from the death deck and its attack type is ranged, but what really catches my attention are its abilities that will be very useful in a battle.

The Meriput Slinder has 4 abilities and they are: Impede, Slow, Reflection Shield and Redemption.

  • The Impede ability causes the Meriput Slinger to decrease the speed of the monster it successfully attacks by -1.

  • The Slow ability causes the Meriput Slinger to decrease the speed of all my opponent's monsters by -1 while he is in battle.

  • The Reflection Shield ability makes the Meriput Slinger immune to damage from the Corrosive Ward, Thorns, Return Fire, Magic Reflect and Blast Spash Damage abilities.

  • The Redemption ability causes the Meriput Slinger to cause 1 physical damage to all my opponent's monsters after he is defeated.

The Impede and Slow abilities are excellent because the lower a monster's speed, the lower the chance it will dodge attacks and it will also take longer for it to attack, so having these 2 abilities will be of great help in battle.

The Reflection Shield ability will be a great additional defense for the Meriput Slinger and the Redemption ability is a great way to deal additional damage to my opponent's monsters, so even after being defeated it will still help one last time.

Although the Meriput Slinger is useful in slowing down my opponent's monsters, I have to be careful with the Reverse Speed rule and not use it when this rule is in battle because its Debuffs will become Buffs for my opponent's monsters.

In addition to great abilities, we can't forget that the Meriput Slinger has a powerful attack so it will be even more useful in battles.

With my current Glint earnings I can open several Loot Chests per season, but I noticed that most of the Soulbounds cards I want are of Rare rarity so maybe it would be a good idea to open Rare Draws as well so I can get cards like the Meriput Slinger to max level faster.
