New Rewards in Chests for Advancing in Leagues + New Promo Cards Considerations + 4 Battles with Elanor Barefoot (ENG/IYA)
There is a new and interesting news that will make all Splinterlands players happy including me.
Today in the official-annuncements channel of the Discord server of Splinterlands a new reward mode for those advancing in leagues was announced.
After maintenance scheduled for Thursday players will be rewarded with an amount of Chests each time they advance to a higher league during a season.
The amount of Chests will depend on the league accessed and the award will be given only once for each access to a higher league during a season.
For example if in a season you start from Bronze 3 league and as you go up and down the league you access Bronze 2 league several times you will only receive 3 chests during a single season.
This is a nice new feature that will provide even more incentive for players to advance in the leagues following their starting leagues during a season.
For example I who generally start the season in the Gold III league of the Modern Format and sometimes even manage to get into the Diamond III league could receive during a single season:
- 34 Minor chests
- 22 Major chests
- 1 Ultimate chests
Splinterlands organizes weekly interesting contests for players who not only play games but also post Splinterlands-related content on Hive and then share this content on social web 2.0.
The Splinterlands Community Engagement Challenge contest active this week has as its theme, “New Promo Card Battles”
The reference is on the “Hall of Legends” promo cards that were available for purchase until recently in the Shop->Legends section of the Splinterlands website.
The first two promo cards for sale in the Shop->Legends section were:
- SANCTUS VICAR
- ELANOR BRAVEFOOT
These are two interesting cards because:
- SANCTUS VICAR is the only card to have the Cleanse Rearguard ability.
This is an ability that is not only rare but also useful against specific cards and in battles that have precise rulesets such as battles that have the rulesets Noxious Fumes and Super Sneak (if the opponent uses cards that confer debuffs)
In fact, in a battle with the ruleset Noxious Fumes SANCTUS VICAR is able to help two friendly cards because in addition to the Cleanse Rearguard ability, it also has the Cleanse ability that will remove the negative effects of the ruleset even on the card in first position.
- ELANOR BRAVEFOOT costs only 0 mana and has an interesting new ability: Blasphemy of Uul
Using the fiend cards from the Chaos Legion set with Elanor Bravefoot allows you to increase the attack points of Eleanor Bravefoot.
Those who have dual elements summoners will have a greater advantage because the Chaos Legion Fiends are of five different elements and to use two of them in combination with Elanor Bravefoot you need to use a dual elements summoner.
SANCTUS VICAR and ELANOR BRAVEFOOT are two interesting cards but they are also two expensive cards because:
- Sanctus Vicar has a cost of $1.95 for BCX.
- Elanor Bravefoot has a cost of $36 per BCX.
Based on the cards I have in my collection, I would like to have Elanor Bravefoot more than Sanctus Vicar even though I like both of them.
Given the high market cost ($36 per BCX) I decided to rent Elanor Bravefoot to try it out in battle.
When I like a card I always prefer to try it in battle first before considering buying it.
I would have liked to rent top level Elanor Bravefoot but it costs too much so I chose to rent level 2 for two days for which I spent a total of 108.57 DEC.
After the hire I used Elanor Bravefoot in four battles:
- one battle with many mana available.
- three battles with little mana available.
Elanor Bravefoot was useful in all the battles in which I used it but its greatest usefulness is in battles that have few mana available.
In the battle where I had 44 mana available I used Elanor Bravefoot as a simple “sacrificial victim” in the last position to protect my other cards from one or two opponent attacks.
Elanor Bravefoot performed the function I assigned her, she made an attack from a distance and died after two attacks suffered by Deeplurker preventing my other cards from suffering these two attacks.
Elanor Bravefoot was therefore useful in battle and contributed to the victory!
But again, the great utility of Elanor Barefoot is in battles that have little mana available such as the battle I show you now in which I had only 13 mana available to build my battle formation.
Due to the presence of SoulFiend, Elanor Barefoot acquires 1 extra attack point.
Without Elanor Barefoot I could have fielded only 5 monster cards.
I would have won this battle even without Elanor but in so many other battles like this one having an extra card with two attack points, that can attack from a distance and that costs 0 mana can be instrumental in achieving a victory.
The usefulness of Elanor Barefoot in battles with low mana is most evident in the next battle where I had 13 mana available because during the battle Elanor Barefoot successfully attacks three times by subtracting 5 life points in total from enemy cards.
Elanor Barefoot is also particularly useful in battles that have the Shades Of Gray ruleset because it is the only card of the neutral element that can be used in the Modern Format that costs 0 mana and this often equates to having an extra card in a battle with low mana compared to an opponent who does not have Elanor Barefoot.

C'è una nuova e interessante novità che farà felici tutti i giocatori di Splinterlands me compreso.
Oggi nel canale official-annuncements del server Discord di Splinterlands è stata annunciata una nuova modalità di ricompensa per chi avanza nelle leghe.
Dopo la manutenzione pianificata per giovedì saranno premiati i giocatori con un quantitativo di Chests ogni volta che, durante una stagione, accedono ad una lega superiore.
Il quantitativo di Chests dipenderà dalla lega a cui si accede e il premio verrà assegnato solo una volta per ogni accesso ad una lega superiore durante una stagione.
Ad esempio se in una stagione parti dalla lega Bronze 3 e salendo e scendendo di lega accedi più volte alla lega Bronze 2 riceverai solo 3 chests durante una singola stagione.
Questa è una bella novità che incentiverà ancora di più i giocatori ad avanzare nelle leghe successive a quelle di partenza durante una stagione.
Ad esempio io che generalmente inizio la stagione in lega Gold III del Modern Format e qualche volta riesco anche ad entrare nella lega Diamond III potrei ricevere durante una singola stagione:
- 34 Minor chests
- 22 Major chests
- 1 Ultimate chests
Splinterlands organizza ogni settimana degli interessanti contests per i giocatori che oltre a giocare pubblicano anche contenuti relativi a Splinterlands su Hive e poi condividono questi contenuti sui social web 2.0.

- ELANOR BRAVEFOOT
Sono due carte interessanti perchè:
- SANCTUS VICAR è l'unica carta ad avere l'abilità Cleanse Rearguard
Questa è un'abilità oltre che rara anche utile contro specifiche carte e in battaglie che hanno precise ruleset come ad esempio le battaglie che hanno le rulesets Noxious Fumes e Super Sneak (se l'avversario utilizza carte che conferiscono debuffs)
Inoltre in una battaglia con la ruleset Noxious Fumes SANCTUS VICAR è in grado di aiutare due carte amiche perchè oltre all'abilità Cleanse Rearguard ha anche l'abilità Cleanse che eliminerà gli effetti negativi della ruleset anche sulla carta in prima posizione.
- ELANOR BRAVEFOOT costa solo 0 mana ed ha una nuova e interessante abilità: Blasphemy of Uul
Utilizzare le fiend cards del set Chaos Legion con Elanor Bravefoot permette di aumentare i punti di attacco di Eleano Bravefoot.
Chi ha evocatori dual elements avrà un vantaggio maggiore perchè i Chaos Legion Fiends sono di cinque diversi elementi e per usarne due in combinazione con Elanor Bravefoot è necessario utilizzare un evocatore dual elements.
SANCTUS VICAR e ELANOR BRAVEFOOT sono due carte interessanti ma sono anche due carte costose perchè:
- Sanctus Vicar ha un costo di 1.95$ per BCX
- Elanor Bravefoot ha un costo di 36$ per BCX
In base alle carte che ho nella mia collezione mi piacerebbe più avere Elanor Bravefoot che Sanctus Vicar anche se mi piacciono entrambe.
Dato il costo di mercato alto (36$ per BCX) ho deciso di noleggiare Elanor Bravefoot per provarla in battaglia.
Quando una carta mi piace preferisco sempre prima provarla in battaglia prima di valutarne l'acquisto.
Mi sarebbe piaciuto noleggiare Elanor Bravefoot di livello massimo ma costa troppo e per questo motivo ho scelto di noleggiare il livello 2 per due giorni per il quale ho speso in totale 108.57 DEC.
Dopo il noleggio ho utilizzato Elanor Bravefoot in quattro battaglie:
- una battaglia con molti mana a disposizione
- tre battaglie con pochi mana a disposizione.
Elanor Bravefoot è stata utile in tutte le battaglie in cui l'ho utilizzata ma la sua utilità maggiore è nelle battaglie che hanno pochi mana disponibili.
Nella battaglia in cui avevo 44 mana a disposizione ho utilizzato Elanor Bravefoot come semplice "vittima sacrificale" in ultima posizione per proteggere le altre mie carte da uno o due attacchi avversari.
Elanor Bravefoot ha svolto la funzione che le ho assegnato, ha effettuato un attacco dalla distanza ed è morta dopo due attacchi subiti da Deeplurker evitando alle altre mie carte di subire questi due attacchi.
Elanor Bravefoot è quindi stata utile in battaglia e ha contribuito alla vittoria!
Ma ripeto, la grande utilità di Elanor Barefoot è nelle battaglie che hanno pochi mana a disposizione come la battaglia che ti mostro adesso in cui avevo solo 13 mana a disposizione per costruire la mia formazione di battaglia.
Grazie alla presenza di SoulFiend, Elanor Barefoot acquisisce 1 punto di attacco in più.
Senza Elanor Barefoot avrei potuto schierare solo 5 carte mostro.
Avrei vinto questa battaglia anche senza Elanor ma in tante altre battaglie come questa avere una carta in più con due punti di attacco, che può attaccare dalla distanza e che costa 0 mana può essere determinante per ottenere una vittoria.
L'utilità di Elanor Barefoot nelle battaglie con pochi mana è più evidente nella prossima battaglia in cui avevo 13 mana disponibili perchè durante la battaglia Elanor Barefoot attacca con successo tre volte sottraendo alle carte nemiche 5 punti vita in totale.
Elanor Barefoot è particolarmente utile anche nelle battaglie che hanno la ruleset Shades Of Gray perchè è l'unica carta dell'elemento neutrale utilizzabile nel Modern Format che costa 0 mana e questo equivale ad avere spesso una carta in più in una battaglia con pochi mana rispetto ad un avversario che non ha Elanor Barefoot.

What’s the meaning of the mana you usually talk about in your games?
Each card on Splinterlands has a mana cost and each game battle has a mana cap, and therefore in each battle it is necessary to combine cards that have a total mana cost that does not exceed the cap imposed by the battle.

Elanor looks like a great card to use with its low mana cost. I don't see myself buying it though due to the costs. The fiends will be even more useful in fights due to it.
Amazing updates and I see a glimpse of hope with Splinterlands. I need to participate in an AMA to get up-to-date, do they still hold those?
