Splinterlands - Review of Monster - Skyspire Leopard

The Rebellion edition reward cards are some of the most fascinating Ones with new abilities added and the summoners are even more awesome with multiple abilities as compared to Chaos Legion and prior edition summoners and that makes the game even more interesting.

Here I am reviewing a rare monster from Life splinter from Rebellion reward cards as I could purchase few common and rare cards from the glint I received so far for battling it out in the last 2 seasons.

The monster I will review is the Skyspire Leopard which is a melee attack monster and is with 5 MANA cost and comes with some nice abilities as I explain further below:

Skyspire Leopard:

The monster looks beautiful with that icy blue color starts with a melee attack of 2 which can go to a max of 5 if we can level up it to level 8 which is the max for this rare monster.

This monster has 2 abilities with retaliate available from level 1 itself and when this is leveled up to level 4, we get void armor ability which will enable it to get hit on armors First even from magic monsters and then the main health get reduced once all the armors are gone.

void armor when combined with couple of repair monsters, can be very lethal when we have weak magic rule set or when there is less magic.

Stats:

As we can see from the above screenshot and as I explained above, this monster's melee attack ranges between 2 to 5, the speed remains same throughout the 8 levels with a speed of 2 and it can have armors 3 or 4 depending on the level it is in.

The health for this monster starts at 5 and can be a max of 7 from level 7.

At 5 MANA cost, I think the stats looks so impressive for this monster and I would recon this monster will be a good One to use in melee mayhem and super sneak battles as we have better monsters for other rule sets to use this as a front monster and the options in Life splinters compared to this are the self healing Imperial Knight which is far better option at the expense of 2 more MANA cost as it can even magic reflect and with 1 MANA cost less, the Xenith Monk can be the other option which too has the magic reflect and void and will be a better option against magic monsters.

The Skyspire Leopard will be a better option when we have magic turned off as the retaliate will be useful only against melee attack monsters.

Because of all the permutations and combinations explained above, I always feel this is One of the better monsters with melee mayhem and super sneak battles as we can use it in backline either in the middle or at the back end as it can retaliate back to melee attack and can be a better One if we have to use this.

The other rule set I can think this will be a good option at front, will be in fog of war rule set, where in, all the attack will flow towards front monster and since this monster is with void armor ability, we can use this with One or Two repair ability monsters and keep building those armors for it to stay longer in the battle.

The best thing about this is the 5 melee attack when leveled up to max level and then, he can be very lethal in the 2 rule sets I mentioned above.

The new cards whatever are introduced, each of those will be useful in some particular rule sets or battle types and leveling up of all these will be a better option and we need loads of glint for that and need to win as many battles as possible each season before the card printing ends as decided by Splinterlands team.

As we have recently observed, there are more 1 MANA cost monsters introduced in the new edition and those can all be good options in low MANA cap battles and when we have equalizer rule set, those 1 and Zero MANA cost monsters will be very handy.
