Splinterlands - Land, The Most Ambitious Splinterlands Project

Apart from Cards (summoner and monsters), Battle, Abilities, Rulesets and strategies, if at all we have anything more ambitious in Splinterlands, then that is The Land.

Yes, the Praetoria is what is called as which is a collection of virtual land said to be the original place where all these different splinters resides and this Praetoria land is mainly divided into 7 regions as shown in below picture.

Pristine Northwest, Broken Lands, Land of Prosperity, Central Fire, Wild Northeast, Great Lowlands and Shimmering Coasts are those different regions as we can see from the above screenshot.

Each of these regions are again divided into Tracts which is a collection of plots.

Each plot is classified as Natural, Magic, Occupied or Kingdom based on the type of resource it can produce.

Natural type of plots are normally having river or some water source and are mainly producing the Grains which is required to feed to the workers who will be deployed to work on these plots to produce various items although mainly divided as Grains, Research and SPS.

Magic plots will produce the magical herbs and essence to be used to boost the chances of unearthing more higher abilities and Occupied Lands are meant to be occupied by enemies and both these types of lands will produce different artifacts usable within the land.

Kingdoms are the kind of forts which are very rare Ones and aid in production of rare land items such as totems.

While there is still much to be explored on land, right now, we can produce different items based on the type of land we have.

The Natural lands as I mentioned above, will mainly produce the grains, SPS and research items which will help in finding totems and other resource while exploring the land.

Grains are main consumable items on all types of land but are only produced on Natural lands.

So, when the Land is further expanded in the proposed Land 1.75 (or is it land 2.0?), the other types of land owners are required to purchase the grains from land owners who own natural land types via some trading and it is yet to be seen what is the currency or Crypto One has to spend to purchase the grains from natural land owners.

There might be a chance of selling the type of items produced by non natural land owners to purchase grain, just speculating.

So, different types of lands are able to produce different types of items required for expansion of land as the land is explored further and we have recently had a proposal to hire Cryptmancer to develop land further and hoping that we will have an update on this soon.

Each land plot needs to have DEC staked and needs to have workers in the form of different cards to be staked in order to produce grains, SPS or research items in the case of natural plots and it will be the same for other types of lands as well.

As we can see from above screenshot, we need power core and 5 different cards to be staked/used to produce the grains and the titles and totems we have will help in increasing the production amount per hour and we need to stake the titles and totems for the same.

While, these are still early days for the land thing, we have been reading that more exciting things to come in land as we get to know in land 2.0 and further expansions, right now, we have grains getting stacked up, we are getting some good chunk of SPS for staking cards and we are also getting research points which are going to be of use in further land expansions.

As I mentioned in the beginning of this blog itself, it's One of the most ambitious thing in Splinterlands with each land plot which which was purchased with about $15 each couple of years back and we are eagerly waiting for the further expansion on this to start harvesting the spells and items apart from the current items of grains, sps and research points and this is gonna be much fun when we can produce cards and other items using the land in further expansions.
