The Barbarian artwork (ENG/ITA)

Hello everyone, the illustration that I present to you today represents a barbarian warrior in battle position with sword in hand, obviously the inspiration comes from Conan the barbarian. To create this work I was inspired by the photo of a bodybuilder, in fact my goal was to highlight the musculature of the subject. As an artistic technique, in this case I decided to use a totally vector design, it is a style that I really like, it allows me to draw figures thanks to color clippings, making everything simple and minimal. This style of drawing is very distinctive. Below you can see the lines that create the final illustration.

After I made the illustration, I applied some lighting and textures to blend the design and make it more eye-catching, which you can see further up at the beginning of the article. Below I show you the image without filters, cleaner, in this case the drawing looks much better, but in my opinion it loses a bit of charm.

Ciao a tutti, l'illustrazione che vi presento oggi rappresenta un guerriero barbaro in posizione da battaglia con la spada in mano, ovviamente l'ispirazione arriva da Conan il barbaro. Per realizzare questa opera mi sono ispirato alla foto di un bodybuilder, infatti il mio obiettivo era quello di mettere in evidenza la muscolatura del soggetto. Come tecnica artistica, in questo caso ho deciso di utilizzare un disegno totalmente in vettoriale, è uno stile che a me piace moltissimo, mi permette di disegnare figure grazie a ritagli di colore, rendendo il tutto semplice e minimale. Questo stile di disegno è molto particolare. Qui di seguito potete vedere le linee che creano l'illustrazione finale.

Dopo aver realizzato l'illustrazione, ho applicato delle luci e delle texture per sporcare il disegno e renderlo più accattivante, quello che puoi vedere più su all'inizio dell'articolo. Qui di seguito vi mostro l'immagine senza filtri, più pulita, in questo caso il disegno si vede molto meglio, ma a parere mio perde un pò di fascino.
