This is my first entry in ESPAVLOG. I have been wanting to share content in this space for some time, and today I finally bring you an extremely interesting post.
Today, I want to share my experience at Kalemegdan in Belgrade. This is a beautiful place full of history, where you can enjoy an impressive panoramic view of the city and learn a little more about Serbian culture and heritage.
Kalemegdan in a nutshell
Kalemegdan is an ancient castle located on top of a hill in the city of Belgrade. Its name means "fortress on the hill" and is considered one of the most emblematic places in the city and I would dare to say that it is one of the most important destinations in all of Europe.
Upon arriving at the site, it is possible to admire the enormous stone walls and fortifications that have been preserved since medieval times. In fact, at the entrance to the park, you will find a room where stories from the Middle Ages are told.
The place in its entirety is perfect for taking a walk, relaxing, or having a picnic. The park has a large number of trees and flowers, as well as several historical statues and monuments.
A dream for architects
If you like architecture, you can't miss the Clock Tower and the Stambol Gate, which are two iconic structures of the castle. From the Clock Tower, you can get an impressive panoramic view of Belgrade, and the Stambol Gate is a perfect place to take a photo.
The confluence of two rivers
The place where the Danube and Sava rivers meet is one of the highlights of the visit to Kalemegdan in Belgrade. From there, you can enjoy a spectacular and unique view of both rivers and the city in general.

The Danube is one of the longest rivers in Europe, with a length of more than 2,800 kilometers. The Sava, on the other hand, is one of the main tributaries of the Danube and is especially important for Serbia, as it crosses a large part of the country.

The Sava, on the other hand, is a narrower and faster river, with a more variable water flow. When they join, both rivers form an impressive natural spectacle.
The Orthodox doctrine
The Orthodox doctrine has significantly influenced the culture and history of Serbia, making these churches especially important. Each one has its own story. From the Ruzica Church built in an old armory, to the impressive interior decoration and bell tower of the Church of the Ascension.
Esta es mi primera entrada en ESPAVLOG. Desde hace tiempo tenia ganas de compartir contenido en este espacio y hoy finalmente les traigo un post sumamente interesante.
Hoy quiero compartir mi experiencia en Kalemegdan en Belgrado. Este es un lugar hermoso y lleno de historia, donde se puede disfrutar de una impresionante vista panorámica de la ciudad y conocer un poco más sobre la cultura y el patrimonio serbio.
Kalemegdan en pocas palabras
Kalemegdan es un antiguo castillo ubicado en la cima de una colina en la ciudad de Belgrado. Su nombre significa "fortaleza en la colina" y es considerado uno de los lugares más emblemáticos de la ciudad y me atrevería a decir que es es uno de los destinos más importantes de toda Europa.
Al llegar al sitio, es posible admirar las enormes murallas de piedra y las fortificaciones que se han conservado desde la época medieval. De hecho, en la entrada al parque encontraremos una habitación donde se relatan cuentos de edad media.
El lugar en su totalidad es perfecto para dar un paseo, relajarse o hacer un picnic. El parque cuenta con una gran cantidad de árboles y flores, así como con varias estatuas y monumentos históricos.
Un sueño para los arquitectos
Si te gusta la arquitectura, no puedes perderte la Torre del Reloj y la Puerta de Stambol, que son dos estructuras icónicas del castillo. Desde la Torre del Reloj se puede obtener una vista panorámica impresionante de Belgrado, y la Puerta de Stambol es un lugar perfecto para tomar una foto.
La confluencia de dos ríos
El lugar donde se unen los ríos Danubio y Sava es uno de los puntos más destacados de la visita a Kalemegdan en Belgrado. Desde allí se puede disfrutar de una vista espectacular y única de ambos ríos y de la ciudad en general.

La doctrina ortodoxa
La doctrina ortodoxa ha influido significativamente en la cultura y la historia de Serbia, lo que hace que estas iglesias sean especialmente importantes. Cada UNA tiene su propia historia. Desde la Iglesia de Ruzica construida en un antiguo depósito de armas, hasta la impresionante decoración interior y el campanario de la Iglesia de la Ascensión.
Las bebidas típicas
Kalemegdan es un lugar ideal para disfrutar de una gran variedad de bebidas típicas de Serbia. Entre las opciones se encuentran la Rakija, una bebida alcohólica fuerte hecha a partir de la destilación de frutas, el vino local, como el Vranac y el Prokupac, y la cerveza, incluyendo la popular marca Jelen. También se puede refrescar con limunada y disfrutar del café turco, espresso o capuchino en varios bares y cafeterías.
El Museo Militar
El museo militar es una oportunidad para conocer el papel que ha desempeñado Serbia en los conflictos bélicos de la región y en el contexto mundial. Hay visitas guiadas en varios idiomas para profundizar en la historia militar del país y de los Balcanes.
En este recinto se pueden ver armas y uniformes militares antiguos, así como disfrutar de exposiciones temporales y actividades educativas para todas las edades. El edificio que alberga el museo también es una joya arquitectónica que vale la pena visitar por su valor histórico y cultural.
Impresiones finales
De verdad que haber visitado este hermoso parque fue una experiencia sumamente gratificante. Lamentablemente mi estancia en Serbia fue muy corta pero espero en un futuro volver y seguir explorando las míticas tierras de Belgrado. In this venue, you can see ancient military weapons and uniforms, as well as enjoy temporary exhibitions and educational activities for all ages. The building that houses the museum is also an architectural gem worth visiting for its historical and cultural value.
Concluding thoughts
Truly, visiting this beautiful park was an extremely rewarding experience. Unfortunately, my stay in Serbia was very short, but I hope to return in the future and continue exploring the mythical lands of Belgrade.
