When the six world powers signed a nuclear deal with Iran in 2015, Iranians took to the streets with joy. The year following the lifting of long-standing sanctions that turned Iran's economy into a toothless tiger, dramatic changes took place. In previous years, where Iran's GDP was booming, the growth of the Iranian economy in 2016 was about 13.40 percent.Foreign companies came to Iran to invest huge amounts. This sudden positive change in growth was highly desirable for Iran, which is suffering the most from sanctions. The agreement gave air to the Iranian people's dream of economic liberation.
