What is the name of the fruit of the Nopal or Tuna España in your country//Cómo se le llama al fruto del Nopal ó Tuna España en su país

For a few days I was about to show you a fruit which is let's say a little particular and in my case I have never tried it but you can always try and I have the opportunity so I will do it very soon. Yesterday afternoon I visited a cousin at his house and something caught my attention when I looked out of one of the side windows since living on the upper floor next to it is an abandoned house and right on the roof It contains a Nopal plant or as we know it here Tuna Spain which is used mostly in water since it works as a Natural Diuretic and allows you to relieve swelling due to fluid retention.

But what I really want to show is the fruit, which of course I don't know its name but has a very striking color; This fruit is born at the ends of the Tunas and as you can see in the photographs they are even very close to each other. It is incredible how nature gives us the opportunity to get a variety of fruit from plants that we cannot even imagine. My question for those most knowledgeable on the subject is to know the name as well as knowing if any of you have tried it and what your experience was like. Greetings and happy night to all Hivers friends.

This is opuntia also known as prickly pear. It is quite tasty, but it lives up to its name. The one on your photos seems to be of the kind with little amount of thorns, but I'd still recommend you to wear gloves and cut out all the "spots" where thorns are before you try to eat the fruits, because the thorns are super tiny, and when they prick you, it is very hard to remove them from the skin. Even the fruits sold on the market have that problem.
