Hi,
On the evening of July 7th 2021 I was able to hear the close call of a soon to be seen perched Red Kite which I could see from my 1st floor window. It is one of only three shots of a perched Red Kite that I have taken. This is the clearest and most detailed photo that I have taken of one.
The photo was taken by myself on a Nikon P1000 Digital camera from a bedroom window.
Focal length 395mm.
Which is easily reachable on a Nikon P900 which can be found at a more reasonable price and is much lighter to transport.
Here is the Photo.
It was great to see it so close. It was in a tall fir tree across the road from the back of the house.
I have been photographing Red Kites for several years now, and have accumulated around 20 or so photos of them in flight. These bright pictures were captured over a period of time and are clearer enough to see the eyes of the birds.
On a walk round Harrold O'dell Country Park which is located on the edge of Buckinghamshire, on the edge of the path a wren was building a nest below a tree. The bird was quite confidently building the nest as I stood still and took a few pictures. It is nice to see the moss and bird so detailed and being within the camera's true optical focal length of 357mm. At only 143mm in 2018. It was my first camera and I have returned to using the same model now.
Thanks and I hope you enjoyed the photos. It is nice to look to back on them. ππ
