A journal writer on Reddit replied to one of my posts on how they write about, "the importance of my specific existence for future generations." It made me laugh because don't we all write about that. Until I thought more about the future generations part.
I cringed thinking about future generations or any one reading my journals after I'm gone. So I decided I'll request to buried with them. But for now, my completed journals stay on my shelf or get boxed under my bed.
How about you - what do you do with all your completed journals?

I remember hearing a story about an author who asked his best friend to burn his written works upon his death. But when the time came the friend did not burn anything. Instead he published two books after the author's death.

This is a controversial story. Should the author's wishes have been honored? What about the two books which went on to receive much acclaim?
I think the only way to know your wishes will be honored is to take care of it yourself.
