Conversation of the palm trees

On that sunny day, when the silence allowed the dialogue between the palm trees to be heard, my perception collided with their thoughts. But they said things so obvious that I could not deny them. Do you believe me? One of the palm trees said to the others in a somewhat dramatic way, so that they could understand:

And that peaceful blanket? What do you see? You are not blind, look.
You know it is soft but harsh, and you perceive it as cold because of its colour, but you never got the legs to walk to the shore and try it. What an irony, and you have been looking at it your whole life, since you were planted here, on the boardwalk...

Oh, and you also hear when people say it tastes like salt. But that is how they have to classify things when they are limited. Sweet, salty, bitter, sour...? as if it were that simple. And what makes you think that the sea is calm now? Come on, raise your eyes a little, and you will see that the beast never sleeps. No one can tame it, just look at it carefully, the beast lives in its unfathomable depth.

The sea itself is the beast. It uproots and throws out seaweed, little shells and the garbage people once gave to it. It devours the weak. It rolls both the huge stones and little pebbles and it leaves them at the mercy of the people who will tread on that sandy carpet.

And later, people build. Bridges, platforms, passages, and windows. Find the straight lines, simple patterns, think, organize, classify, polish, paint, frame, and search for symmetry in the dimension where it is not possible. Do you see that girl who is taking the photo? Hahaha, just mere attempts to capture straight lines, hahahaha.

That laughter of the talking palm trees made me aware I became complicit in this whole conversation. I am not sure I was supposed to hear their dialogue at all... I tried not to listen to them but while crossing the platform with shadows and arriving at another window I heard again the voice of the tall trees.

Look, there are surprises under the window. One of those small thrown stones became the basis for a small drawing. A possible title of this art could be - Sweet Bite Embraced by the Love and Hope of Christmas. I am wondering who made it and why. Hahaha!

There are the culprits, I see them. People - singing Christmas Carols!!!

The last thing I heard before I quickly walked away was the unison voice of the palm trees singing with the little choir.
