Interesting observation. As far as litter goes, most areas are clean. I am sometimes shocked with the photos I see of places where the ground is covered with debris. But there are other ways that we harm the earth that are not so visible.

It is so noticable for we South Africans because, out here, it's pretty third world still and litter is the last thing on peoples' minds. Survival is more important.
It can get pretty hectic out here. Like Bali (but that is mostly tourist related, I suspect)
