After almost a month, the long-awaited Axie Infinity Season 19 is finally here, a fresh start on a more competitive and intense arena in the Lunacia, new season to show our critical thinking skills and abilities.
SEASON 19 PRIZE POOL
The update comes with a massive prize pool of 3,000 AXS (400,000 USD), highest rewards ever in the Axie Infinity seasons, this will be rewarded to the top 1000 arena players at the end of the season, with this rewards we are to anticipate a more intense competition with every single being in the Lunacia.
NEW BUFFS AND NERFS
For the players, this is the most awaited part of the update because this is where the new meta will greatly depend. The changes in the cards rendered some build less effective and also gave way to new potential techniques and plays in the arena. Personally, the picture below were the major buffs and nerfs from the new update. Sadly, the update affected my team negatively, and badly at that since double talk's attack was reduced from 80 to 60, reducing my bird's 1v1 potential. Poison teams' attack output were also reduced due to venom spray's poison being reduced from 2 to 1, possibly ending the cancerous build for good.
CRIT AND SKILL UPDATE
Random critical attacks is one of the major cause of pain and anger in the axie community. Crits that can turn the tides of the battle single-handedly. Crits that are there to ruin your combo. To address this issue, the team at Mavis Hub did not change the change of critical strikes, instead, reduced significantly the damage of low morale axies like aquas and reptiles.
As for the skill stat, they improved its effect to the game, making it in par with health and speed stats. In the new update, there is an increase in the damage added when doing combos. This gave better chances for high skill axies to go against other axies with high speed or high health.
Some of us were heavily affected with the card balancing made for this new season, but we must embrace change no matter how badly we were struck by it. After all we were given this big opportunity of being able to play while earning.

Hi @hejim, thanks for the info 😊 I, too, has a double talk but on an aqua. It now can't burst other aquas if I use double talk. I might sell it soon for a beast or a bird.

Hello, what I'm referring here is the stat skill. In the new update, a higher number for this stat means the axie has higher additional damage when doing combos. For example, reptiles will now have higher additional damage when doing combos compared to aquas since reptiles have higher skill stat than aquas.
