No Weapon Formed Against Thee

Bible time with Jongo!

I have a really good friend of mine who recently became a follower of Christ. It's amazing because of his background and what his attitude towards religion was a few years ago.

He's really concerned about the state of the world and how many evils seem to be all around us. And rightfully so. It's a cold world out there and honestly, people can go crazy thinking about how bad it really is out there.

I sometimes forget what it's like to have fear about things we cannot control simply because of....The bible.

And I get it.....

When someone says this, a lot of secular people just shake their head and laugh....

"How can you possibly put some much trust into a....Book?"

Weird huh?

It's part faith and it's part reason. Yes faith is huge, but sometimes God speaks to you and you just can't ignore it. Here's one of my favorite verses in scripture:

This keeps me so focused and faithful that God is in charge. Nothing in this world can hurt believers in the long run. Short term, oh we are at war. It's a spiritual war but sometimes the spiritual makes it way to the physical.

But through faith, we are told nothing with prosper without God's approval.

Going back to the beginning of this post, my friend is slowly understanding what I mean when I say...No weapon formed against thee shall prosper....But he's still concerned about the state of the world.

Wars. Rumors of wars. Pestilences. Death. Destruction....

You know, basically everything in Matthew 24.

So I see what's going on and it goes back to the promises of scripture. For me it's simple, we know the world is rotten. We know how it ends. So my faith tells me....Exhale.

It's got to be one of the most enjoyable parts of being a believer. I'm not naive to the issues in the world, but big picture...Big big picture....God wins.
