So Christmas came and went here at our house, and I had a pretty good holiday. Drove through quite the snow storms but thankful for being able to arrive safely at my parents-in-law's home. So now the preperation begins for 2026....And I've got a lot planned for the new year, especially when it comes to my walk with Christ.
Speaking of which, it's time to continue our fun filled adventure in the #kingdomproverbs series with a brand new verse to look at. It's been a few days, so let's get a refresher with the graphic that has inspired this whole blog series from the start:

The graphic above says our next verse is Proverbs 28:23 and that the Proverbs Men and Women 'Correct others gently"....
Let's see how the bible describes it in the King James Version:

As a reader of this version it makes sense to me, and it does overall say...Correct others gently. But let's get a modern translation and see how it breaks it down:
I think the New Living Translation is onto something here when it reads "In the end, people appreciate honest criticism
far more than flattery."
Sometimes, the truth hurts. Often more times than not, it hurts. But I know that rather than getting my ego puffed up and hearing what I want to hear, the truth is much welcomed. And this is something I try to remember when talking ab out my faith especially. There are plenty of times when I want to be right because I see the heretical doctrine being spewed by so many in the 'church', but alas.....
What good does it do to upset my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ?
Yes, we are to live by the truth and for a bible believing Christian, that means literally by the book. And yes, call sin by it's right name. However I think it's important to agree with what we will all agree on....Christ is King. And then go from there.
Find the common things we share, highlight those. And once a relationship has been built, share truth. But pounding someone over the head with doctrine, no matter how true it is, always upsets people. Being tactful is important. The heart of Christ is VERY important.
This is important also for things not faith related either. No one want to be called out and embarrassed. That is not the right way to rebuke someone. Always lead with a gentle heart and a firm but faith approach.
Hope you guys had a great holidays and I'll see you on the next verse of the #kingdomproverbs

My go-to English translation of the Bible is the New Living Translation. I believe the most accurate translation would be the NASB. Just my two sheckles. lol
Yeah NASB is the most word for word you can get in the english language. Most important translation is the one we read every day :)
Wow oooo, this is a good reminder about our approach to people with the word of God,
after all the Bible says,
"wisdom is profitable to direct"
Meaning we should speak and act in the wisdom of Jesus Christ, while talking to others about the scriptures!!.
Yeah.... This is noted.!
Thanks for stopping by the blog!

Thank you properly my brotherly, enjoy this once a year ceremonial holidays.
I did friend, spending my Christmas with my Bible was an all in one experience. Picked your point here friend, spending your time to argue religion and doctrines is not the top priority. Not everyone will scale at your same faith.
The most important thing is Christ at the center of the talk
agreed. much more important things to worry about.
Building relationships first and leading with love makes all the difference. May we all rebuke like Jesus, with compassion and truth. Blessings, brother ☺️📖🌱
Amen to that!
Amen and amen! Praise God for His truth that unites us all✝️❤️
Finding the right mix of honesty and kindness is really important, and agree with your focus on prioritizing relationships first.
completely agree.
