I have to say our little #kingdomproverbs journey has been a lot of fun :)
This week we've been going over the verses from the 'Proverbs Men' graphic which I'm going going to highlight in our first post here!
The back story of this graphic is that I saw it months ago, printed it out, and have been doing studies on each verse while digging as deep as I can on each.
It is so good! For anyone looking to deepen their faith and get some biblical personal development tips, this series is for you!
I really do hope and pray that you have been enjoying it as much as I have creating it :)
Anyways, let's get into the verse for today....

I'll admit a few things as we unwrap this verse...
I read the King James Version translation. And I know, I know....It's not the easiest thing to read lol And that's clearly obvious when you first glance at this verse. So let's unpack it using both what it reads on the graphic and a more modern translation...
The graphic reads: "Hates bribery and corruption" which you can take out of that verse in the KJV if you are familiar with the language. But let's see what the New King James Version says:
"A wicked man accepts a bribe behind the back To pervert the ways of justice."
Ahhhh now that makes sense!
This highlights how wicked this world truly is. Because you know, without anyone having to explain it to you, how society is full of bribes, evil doing, and corruption. And we are taught to be of heaven, not of the world so....This verse goes against everything it means to be human. We would like to think of ourselves as honest and law abiding and that's what God wants. But how hard is it to navigate the world when this stuff is everywhere.
Politicians, celebrities, news makers, sports stars....You name it. Anytime something bad comes up in their lives, it's usually from bribes and corruption of some sort.
So this is why the Proverbs Men and Women aren't of the world! This is the what makes us unique. When we don't go along with the norm of society and we respect and uphold justice. This is very powerful and at times, much easier said than done.
But we have a great hope....
I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me....Philippians 4:13. Remember that anytime you feel like the world is pulling you down! And I know this might come off as 'corny' because it's almost become a meme in itself but think....What would Jesus do?
When presented with opportunities to accept bribes and be part of a corrupt system....He would call sin by it's right name and turn from it. He is our example, so to me, this is automatic. Easier said than done, but 1000000% possible through Christ!

In a society where people take bribes to pervert justice, bribery and corruption remain constant realities we live with; seeing, hearing, or even being tempted by them. Yet, as true believers, we overcome through the power of Almighty God!
And Ephesians 6:10-13 comes to mind:
This passage reminds us that victory comes not by our strength alone, but by relying on God's power and spiritual armor to resist bribery and corruption's temptations.
Thanks 🙏 for the message @jongolson for iron sharpeneth iron.
Ephesians 6:12 is my favorite verse in the bible.
Yeah.... Jesus Christ is our leading link to heaven, to eternity. We must at all times focus on him completely.
The scripture speaking says,
"LOOKING UNTO JESUS, THE AUTHOR AND THE FINISHER OF OUR FAITH"
I love that verse too. Fun study to do with that, is see who Christ said had 'great faith' :) It wasn't Israel. It was Gentiles. There's hope for all of us lol
Yes, it was and still an irony.
It is definitely true that finding our way through a world full of corruption can be tough.
Absolutely!
