How do I know God hears my prayers?
The Bible assures us that God hears the prayers of his children.
First book of John chapter 5 verse 14, it says,
This is the confidence we have in approaching God, that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.
This verse highlights two key points, confidence and alignment with his will. When we approach God in prayer, it's not about fancy words or perfect phrases. It's about sincerity and trust that he is listening.
Think about a parent who listens to their child. Even if the child stumbles over their words, the parent's love compels them to listen carefully. Likewise, God's love ensures he hears us when we pray with an honest heart.
Faith is the key.
Hebrews 11 verse 6 says,
Without faith, it is impossible to please God because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.
Faith is like the connection point in prayer. Imagine a phone call need a signal to communicate. Faith acts as that signal, bridging the gap between our words and God's ear.
When you feel uncertain, remind yourself of what Jesus said in Matthew 7 verses 7 to 8.
Ask, and it will be given to you. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.
This shows that persistence and faith go hand in hand. God's timing is perfect.
Sometimes it feels like our prayers go unanswered. But the Bible reminds us that God's ways are higher than ours,
Isaiah 55 verses 8 to 9. Think about planting a seed. You don't see results instantly, but over time, growth happens.
In the same way, God works in His perfect timing to answer prayers, often in ways we don't expect. Romans 8 verse 28 assures us,
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, called according to His purpose. Trusting in God's timing can be challenging, but it is an essential part of faith.
When you pray, think of it as talking to a loving friend who values every word you say. Take comfort in Psalm 34 verse 17, which says, The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them. He delivers them from all their troubles.
Even when you don't see immediate results, remember that God is listening, working behind the scenes, and aligning your life with his greater plan.
Trust in His promises and keep praying with faith.
Stay Blessed.
