I walked into the forest without shoes, almost by accident, like it was something I had forgotten to put on rather than a decision. The ground was cool and uneven, soft in some places, sharp in others. It asked for attention. Every step slowed me down.

I was wearing a white dress that kept catching on low branches. I did not mind. It felt right to let the forest interrupt me. In my hands, I carried a small bouquet of flowers, gathered without thinking too much. Nothing rare. Just things that I wanted to be held for a moment.

There was a quiet kind of happiness in it. The kind that does not announce itself. My feet learned the path faster than my thoughts did. Pine needles, damp soil, a hidden stone reminding me that I was awake.

At some point, it felt less like a walk and more like a dream I was moving through. Not the kind where everything floats, but one where everything feels sharper and more real than usual. I did not try to understand it. I just kept walking, barefoot, holding flowers, letting the forest remember something in me that I had almost forgotten.
