This is my entry for the daily #monomad challenge hosted and curated by @monochromes.

Hello and greetings again everyone. Today I want to share another black and white portraiture that I took during 2018. This was a photo taken when one of my friend invited her friend for an outdoor portraiture. During this time I was still studying photography mainly on lighting setup.

But during this photo session we are doing the photoshoot just by using available light. Looking back at these photo, it reminds me back on how little of the knowledge on handling a camera on that time.

I am using my old Canon 70D dslr and a fifty nifty lens. During the photo session, one thing that I realize now was the wardrobe. Since she wears a white wardrobe and we were doing an outdoor shoot, the exposure of the camera was indirectly being affected by the light reflection on her dress.

I was struggling to get a good exposure for the shoot plus my knowledge of white balance during that time was very little, resulting that the photo had a yellowish tint.

So below are some of the good shoot that I had taken during the time.

I had to choose a location with less sun rays just to be able to get a good exposure on the photo. Still some of the light bounced from below and her dress makes it a little bit hard to balance the overall exposure. After some adjustment on the pose and composition, finaly I had a good exposure on the photo.

After the outdoor shoot. We went to a traditional house for a shoot. It was a struggle for me. The auto focus was hunting all the time, until I had to use manual focusing to get some good shoot.

This was the setup inside the traditional house. I tried to simulate the Rembrandt lighting for the shoot. After so many tries I finally had there photo which I like the most. It was a good outdoor experience for me. I had gain a valuable experience during this session. Only thing that now I had to balance between outdoor and studio shoot so I can always ready on different situations.

And that is all from me today. I hope that you guys enjoyed my post. Until we meet again on the next one. Have an amazing day and stay safe always my friend. Cheers!
