Hail to the Hive!

Even though we’ve made the decision to stay in the general Leicester area for a while there were a few unforeseen events we had not anticipated. Apparently over the weekend the local rowing club is holding a ‘Regatta’ and they’ve got an agreement in place with the Canal and River Trust to not permit any boats to be moored there for the duration. So we’ve had to temporarily relocate. Talk about two words I never thought I’d here in the same sentence’Regatta’ and ‘Leicester’ but hey it is what it is.

So we are making our way through the little industrial bit on the outskirts to a more rural setting not too far away for the weekend. Always a good photo opportunity and I did particularly like this moody shot of @millycf1976 at the locks near this old factory building.

I used to live near here and cycle down this towpath and always enjoyed the escape of it and the fact you’d go from interesting industrial buildings to beautiful countryside in the blink of an eye.

The longer I am back the more memories come flooding back of all the time I had spent on the canal way before I ended up living on it.
