Hail to the Hive!
I have spoken before about my bridge fetish and have made many posts about the bridges along the canal routes we have chugged along on both the Narrowboats we have owned, Badger and Cygnet, but these magnificent specimens I bring before you today aren’t spanning little canals but the Mighty River Thames no less! And wonderful constructions they are too.
From the moment we turned onto the River Thames a massive smile spread across my face almost , it felt, as wide as the river itself. This was amplified by finding a wonderful mooring right beside an amazing bridge in the City of Reading. So we had our very own floating city centre apartment, waterfront living at its finest.
We were on the River Thames a total of 3 days and we past under a variety of different bridges constructed in differing styles and from different materials but all with their own characteristics and personalities. i do love a good bridge!
As I have also mentioned previously I have become quite adept at steering with my backside on the canals but on the river this required more skilled bum techniques in order to take photos of the bridges whilst in motion and not losing control of Cygnet, our little Narrowboat home.
I will need to do a post that does the journey up the River Thames more credit but as ever I do love a good monomad post and so thought I would offer up these specimens in monochrome as they truly shine in this format.
Both myself and my wifey Milly are still glowing and buzzing from our recent travels. It has indeed been a glorious time.
More to come, that’s for sure!

You nailed it again with more excellent brige photographs!!! the first one is just good, the lines of the bridges combined with the reflection in the water is just good!
Amazing!!!! 👏👏👏
