I have several friends who are passionate about specific kinds of photographic gear. Some prefer particular cameras and others enjoy using certain lenses. A few days ago, several of us got together to celebrate the magic of Nikon’s early digital sensors, especially those CCD sensors from the first generations that tried to faithfully imitate film, because that was supposedly what users wanted back then.
Brands were constantly innovating, creating color recipes that simulated well-known and widely used film profiles of the time. So we went out that day through Old Havana with cameras like the Nikon D700, D70 and D300, models that prioritize color quality and texture over definition and resolution.
We enjoyed the walk so much, took a lot of photos, and here I share with you some of the results from my beloved Nikon D700, which still has a lot to say even today.

Tengo varios amigos entusiastas de cierto tipo de equipos fotográficos. Algunos prefieren cámaras especÃficas y otros disfrutan usar determinados lentes. Hace unos dÃas nos reunimos varios amantes de los primeros sensores digitales de Nikon, especialmente aquellos sensores CCD de las primeras generaciones que intentaban imitar de manera bastante fiel la pelÃcula, porque supuestamente eso era lo que sus usuarios buscaban en aquel entonces.
Las marcas competÃan creando recetas de color que simulaban los conocidos perfiles de pelÃcula tan usados en esa época. Asà que salimos ese dÃa por La Habana Vieja con cámaras como la Nikon D700, D70 y D300, modelos que privilegian la calidad del color y la textura por encima de la definición y la resolución.
Disfrutamos muchÃsimo el paseo, hicimos muchas fotos y aquà les comparto algunos de los resultados de mi querida Nikon D700, que todavÃa hoy sigue dando mucho de qué hablar.
